Sorry to be vague, but... Thoughts?
I thought it one of the best made-for-TV flicks I've seen. Klugman is particularly good (as usual). I'm somewhat loath to say more, as this is one of those twisty pictures which the viewer really ought to come into cold, but...
Any other fans?

Watched it as a kid and really liked it. Great mystery. I was disappointed by the ending, but it was a good twist.

(In spoilers, of course!) I kicked myself at the ending for not seeing it--not because the ending is all that original in its own right, but rather because the writers completely fooled me in thinking that the penultimate twist (that Klugman was in on the "villains'" plot) was the final twist. I had guessed the Klugman twist from the beginning and was quite proud of myself for having done so, just to have the ground taken out from under me at the very end. I just had to smile at the cleverness there.

Yes, I suppose you're right about that, movielover . With that said--though Franciscus was very likable, I thought Klugman seemed to become the lead as it went along. (Not much of a spoiler there, but better safe than sorry.) Anyway, I thought Franciscus did a far better job here, too, than he did in the only other thing I've seen him in, Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

But I haven't watched the movie since I was a kid. Maybe if I rewatched it as an adult, I'd feel differently about the end. Still thought it was a captivating movie, especially for 1976.
