Even though it was done as a kind of passing the torch from the franchise being about one MacLeod to another, I wish they could've gotten Christopher Lambert to come back as Connor a few more times on the show, that would've been good. Connor is the best. It's a crime that they decided to ruin his character in Endgame. But I do like some of the flashbacks in that movie....

That movie would've been better if they killed Duncan and made Connor (once again) the last one standing.

I watched through almost the whole show last year. Couldn't finish season 6. I recommend skipping season 1 and 6 for a watch through.

I watched through almost the whole show last year. Couldn't finish season 6. I recommend skipping season 1 and 6 for a watch through. I think season 1 is watched best by a real fan of the series. In other words, a person not familiar with the show, who wants to see if they'll like it might skip season one, if they get hooked after watching season 2, etc. (3, 4 and 5 are personally my favorite) then go back and watch season 1. The Duncan/Tessa love story is the best I've seen on any television series. You've got to see season 1 to see it. You also have to see the season 1 episode Band of Brothers to see the debut of Darius. I think season 6 is mostly skipable. It has my all time least favorite of the show - two of hearts. But there were some good episodes there too: -Unusual Suspects (I think it's the funniest highlander) -Justice (it makes me think about Connor raising Rachel, although obviously the outcome was different) -Indiscretions (This is one of the best episodes of the series, like a mini-Joe/Methos buddy movie. Has my favorite Methos line, Just because I don't like to fight does not mean I C-A-H-N-T, lol. I also like the bit where Methos compares his friendship with mulder and scully and Caligular and Incitatus, and he says, no, Incitartus is a horse. -To Be is also a must see episode -- (its a wonderful life, Highlander style); and -Not to Be (Duncan and Tessa one last time -- I also love the end of series montage).

There are some great moments in season 1. The love story is important for later season episodes too but it's the b story. The immortal a week stories of season 1 are pretty cheesy and I think it's overall quality makes it hard for me to watch. As a fan I've seen it enough and I typically skip it on a watch through. The Duncan/Tessa stuff is essential To the show for sure.

I used to like the show, but recently tried to watch it again and just couldn't do it. So very cheesy and bad. Perhaps it's just the first episodes, because I do have good memories of the show, but I could not get past those first couple of episodes.

It doesn't get really good until 3 IMO but 2 has a lot of important stuff. I think watchers or hunters is a good starting episode.

I'll give that a go, thanks for the tip!

Just saw a clip on YouTube with little details and info about Highlander and all the series, sequels and animations.
I forgot all about that anime show, seeing parts of it reminded me of how bad that was.
And I never heard of Highlander Raven, anyone here seen that show?

The Raven was terrible. Without the flashbacks, it didn't even feel like Highlander.

The Raven was terrible. Without the flashbacks, it didn't even feel like Highlander. At a choice of who to use a spinoff for, they should've gone with the 5,000 years old man who's seen and done everything than the cheap whore and thief who always needs MacLeod to step in and save her life.

That first episode was enough for me, to be honest On the old IMDb archives there is a thread where posters made an essential episode guide for the show for those who won't wade through the cheese. You should look into it.

Who else thought they should've had an episode where somebody actually kills Kenny? That should've been Methos' job, he probably would've jumped on the opportunity.

I got to watching in the first place, cause I liked the movie (my uncle had a copy and fell asleep while babysitting - so all the cousins were watching a rated R movie on his shift, poor fellow), but once Methos showed up- I became a die-hard fan. I wish they had done the spin-off with him instead of the chic. She was irritating. Methos was wonderful, and charming but heart-breaking at the same time. Plus, imagine all the fun flashbacks you could have had with him!!! [When the actor who played Methos, appeared on the SciFi channel show SANCTUARY, it made me happy that they kept finding excuses to time-travel/stroll down memory lane in order to have him appear as often as possible. He, Magnus (Amanda Tapping), Biggie (Christopher Hydral), and Tesla (Jonathan Young) made the show, for me. All that history and banter.]
