I drizzle it with olive oil; sprinkle salt and bake it 40 minutes. (I like it a bit charred)

Not a fan. OK if extremely thin and fresh. Roasted with live oil, garlic, pepper, salt.
Makes my pee stink.

This is the best time of year, in the northern hemisphere, for asparagus. And, until Easter, the prices are great. It's now 99 cents/pound at my local "indie" produce markets.
I like to salt a few spears, and steam them for 2-3 minutes. I dip them in mayonnaise ... I've also done lemon and melted butter.

I always liked asparagus but until relatively recently I never bought fresh ones at the grocery store to prepare at home. Then I tried them as appetizers at a friendβs home β they were just baked in the oven with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. Delicious! After that, I started buying asparagus whenever I saw them for sale at a decent price (prices vary wildly here).
Usually I just bake them as described above, but Iβve also been known to cut them up and add them to stir-fries.

The only way we've ever made it is put it in a big pan of boiling water, pour a ton of salt in it, put a lid on it and let it boil for half an hour or more, it's DELICIOUS.

Olive oil, sea salt, black pepper and broil til charred. Delicious! (MTBG! It indicates "new member." Are you the old mtbg (aka "Teach")? If so, it's great to see you again! If not, welcome! ) I've grilled asparagus, but never thought of broiling it. Now is the time to buy it up, and experiment. I'll try it.

"Teach", Count gave me that nickname. No longer in the classroom as I'm a principal now but will always think of myself as a teacher. Hope all is well with you and yours!
