Sloop John B - one of the most gorgeously arranged records of its time. Yep. This. ^ Here are two Beach Boys, Brian Wilson and Al Jardin, in 2016 celebrating the 50th anniversary of their recording of Sloop John B. The tall beefy guy on the left singing falsetto is Mike Jardin, Al's son.

Elsewhere, Jardine recounts suggesting Sloop John B to Brian Wilson, but he didn't like it. A few days later, however, Brian called the guys into the studio where he'd pretty much laid out the arrangement. Every now and then Youtube has an audio of Brian working out the arrangement with the Wrecking Crew. It doesn't stay up long. Here's a link to some videos of Brian Wilson working with the Wrecking Crew. www.loudersound.com/features/how-brian-wilson-recorded-pet-sounds-and-reinvented-music

A bit of an aside, but does anywhere here actually like "Kokomo"? I don't think it's great, but I don't think it's the worst thing ever made or anything.
