Traditional sake cups are usually white with a blue/white concentric circle pattern inside. Now we all know that they can be made into thousands styles and colors, yet this design is traditional.
WHY?

When I first saw this thread I mistook it as "salt cups" and wondered what a salt cup is...
Also, the thread is over a year old and the image link still works, a rarity on the internet these days.
