Reportedly, it's not doing well with test audiences. Well, that figures.
Also, the first one was great, Jeff, wtf are you talking about? Yeah, let's wait for real sources here?

Despite everything, I'm still looking forward to this movie. I know they initially billed it as kind of a buddy-cop/road-trip movie, and that's what got me excited about it at the start, seeing Arthur and Orm having to work together for a common goal.

From Jason Momoa:
"...Peter [Safran]’s my producer [on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom], and is a dear friend. I absolutely think Aquaman will be involved in the DCU. It’s on, bro – there’s no one bigger than Aquaman! But, also, I hope people are excited to see the new one. It’s fun. I really enjoy doing comedy. There’s some really funny stuff with Patrick Wilson. I really adore him. We had a great time working together. It’s like we’re brothers. There’s a lot of cool stuff happening in this one."

That's what I've been looking forward to, Momoa and Wilson, on the road together, with a shared goal, for most of the film.

Good news for The Marvels: this will probably do even worse at the BO.

Well the DCEU is over and I’m probably one of the only ones sad to see it go.
But this was an especially depressing note to end on.

I'm surprised the DCEU (I always thought that was a rather silly name, why not DC Cinematic Universe?) has lasted this long, to be honest - given all the behind-the-scenes drama and generally lackluster profit. Unfortunately, I don't see the DCU faring any better, it might even have less of a lifespan.

For whatever it’s worth, this has become the highest grossing DCEU film since the first Aquaman, although it’s made less domestically than Shazam! and Black Adam.

I actually liked the movie pretty well. It wasn’t as good as the first one, but enjoyable enough. I like the scenes with Aquaman teamed up with Orm, and it was cool that Black Manta had a lot more screen time. It was pretty adventurous too. I’m one of the few who is sorry to see the DCEU go, and would have preferred that it go out with more of a “grand finale” though. That said, I am somewhat looking forward to this new “DCU”. Some of the choices made so far are interesting to me.

I'm in the middle of this and don't see what makes it so much worse than the first Aquaman.

I'm in the middle of this and don't see what makes it so much worse than the first Aquaman. That might be true, but considering the first one was one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen, that's hardly a compliment. I caught some of this on tv a while back and couldn't believe it was released. It felt like an intentional spoof of itself. How many times does Mamoa yell "Woohoo!" in this movie? I saw roughly half of it, and it must've been at least seven times. At one point they visit Atlantean Jabba the Hutt and it's all so goofy. The franchise had diminishing returns for a reason.

As someone who loves the first one, this second one was awful. I was extremely disappointed.

Just weird when a sequel gets blasted despite more or less delivering the same product. Kind of like a delayed negative reaction. Same thing happened with Kingsman 1/2.
