Ah, dear Julia. It's quite interesting & quite funny. I don't know if it counts since it started 1999, but Good Eats with Alton Brown.

I don't know if you can really call it a cooking show but I quite liked Can't Cook Won't Cook with Ainsley Harriet, I think he was the host....
