What was enlightened about it? How are you changed? I went to a Buddha garden and participated in meditation with spiritual leaders. We did a ritual with some different things and I see the world differently now. I have a purpose. I saw the Earth, really lived in nature. I didn’t let the distraction of social media, cell phones, etc… ruin my experience. I woke up with the natural circadian rhythm. Woke up when my body told me to. I’ve never had so much energy in my life. I realized I held onto hate, and regret, fear and shame. I forgave everyone for everything and let everything go. I feel 100 pounds lighter. I don’t want to cause harm to any living being. Literally just want to be a part of the natural world. We weren’t meant to sit in a room behind a computer screen. We are meant to live on the land, like every other being. I’m working on transitioning into an off grid life. Leaving my job, selling my home. Just going to live in a yurt style tent home. Solar power and natural living. Doing strictly online counseling to make just enough money to live. Eventually figuring out how to live without money if I can. Good for you. You did all that in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah? Who knew!

We have another Christopher McCandless in the making. If I’ve offended you in the past, I apologize. Truly. I’m not harboring hate or ill will towards anyone.

I was kidding. I'm just pulling your chain.
Here's a trailer for Into the Wild:

Any advice for someone who wants to do something similar? I saved a lot of money over a few years and when I got a job as a professor for the fall semester… I quit my old job and just took off. Now, I’m teaching the fall semester. I do online counseling. So I’m trying to convert all my jobs to online. Eventually, I’d like to teach college level online and counseling online so I can work from anywhere. At first, I might just get a portable tent and go from RV park to RV park. And camp in the wilderness in some safe locations. Then, I’ll eventually get a piece of land and put up a yurt with solar power.

When you said you were taking a break I never imagined this. Your photos are great, especially the one with your son swimming, it's truly beautiful. When you say you don't want to cause harm, do you mean you're vegan? A goal I've yet to accomplish. I like the idea of the life style you want, but not sure how your son fits in. Maybe it's the best life style. Anyway, I can see you were really transformed, best of luck.

Great photos. You look like Jason Statham. Are you his stunt double? I’m even bald, you can see through the SnapBack…

Was that a decision with this new transformation, or something you've been for years? Any tips on sticking with it? You need to change your avatar picture, it doesn't fit the new you.

You need to change your avatar picture, it doesn't fit the new you. I’ve been transforming over time. This was the final push. I became Vegan last year. I also started painting this year too. I never painted until this January. About two years ago, I started a minimalist project. Getting rid of stuff.

(I agree we should all spend less time behind the screens). And if I can be a bit personal, how would your family/children fit in? Seems like the journey included a lot of bonding with your son, would that be possible to uphold living off the grid? Also, was it just the ritual that allowed you to let go of hate/grudges/regrets etc, or you think it was the entire process? Give us, mere mortals, some more tips pls

The Devils Bridge in Sedona AZ. I hiked the whole way. This is me. That looks frightening.

The Devils Bridge in Sedona AZ. I hiked the whole way. This is me. That looks frightening. It was a good hike. But we’ll worth it. That was a crazy drop and a narrow natural bridge. But it was like a spiritual experience. Just looking around. Soaking it in.
