Your use of exclamation points reflects my own opinion. Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor and Jon Pertwee is my second favorite.
I own fourteen Who serials on DVD. Thirteen of them are Tom Baker stories and one is a Jon Pertwee story.

Thirteen of them are Tom Baker stories and one is a Jon Pertwee story. I'm pretty much the same... Sarah Jane Smith was the companion of both Jon Pertwee's & Tom Baker's Doctors, and was my favorite of the companions. I have ALL of her stories on DVD, including her spin off "K-9 & Company", which also included a second K-9 story with Tom Baker. (I don't have SJS' story "Downtime", but I don't think that is on DVD.) I also have the one where the Jon Pertwee's Doctor's & the Master's Tardis merged into each other. I loved that. I have a few of Jo Grant's stories. I also liked her... I have most of the multiple Doctor stories, some of the two "parter" regeneration ones. (I tried to get ones that were key stories about some character coming and going)... I also have some others featuring famous aliens (Including Davros), which were later featured in the New Series. (I have all of the New Series/Sarah Jane Adventures, and wanted the stories that tied in with both the Classic & New Series.) There are more Classic Stories that I would like to get, but I think some DVDs are out of print now. Hopefully they will be reissued in some way.

I love Sarah Jane as well. The Jon Pertwee DVD I own is her introductory story, "The Time Warrior". That story is one of the weirdest introductions of a Companion to the Timelord/TARDIS stuff... Sarah Jane sneaks up to the TARDIS and goes inside to look for a missing scientist... without the Doctor seeing her, who is just a couple of feet away... There is no reaction/comment made from Sarah Jane about how it is "bigger on the inside"... What Sarah Jane does next is unknown... She "disappears from view" in the Console Room, because the Doctor gets into the TARDIS and doesn't see her... The TARDIS arrives in the past and the DOCTOR gets out... Moments later Sarah Jane gets out of the TARDIS, and seems unusually calm... She doesn't seem worried about bumping into the Doctor... She still doesn't seem to have any real clue that she was "inside" a TARDIS at all... And she doesn't seem to be all that shocked that she is now outside... Not sure what was going on through all that... But wow, I guess the characters needed glasses. LOL!

I would rank them best to worst; Tom Baker, Jon Pertwee, Peter Davison, Patrick Troughton, William Hartnell, Colin Baker and the ABSOLUTE WORST of the CLASSIC Doctors...Sylvester McCoy. In-fact EVEN Colin Baker was light-years or even parsecs better than Sylvester McCoy. I BLAME him as one of the main reasons Classic Who got cancelled.

NOT EVEN one single episode of SM's was any good or even half-way decent. At least all the other Doctors' had mostly decent or better to excellent or superb episodes, with some stinkers as well, but all of SM's WERE STINKERS. And the NuWho is just PURE GARBAGE or in the UK...PURE RUBBISH. Watch two episodes and decided that was ENOUGH.

I've pretty much enjoyed all the Doctors at one point or another, but I really like Troughton, Pertwee, Tom Baker, and Davidson -- they'd be my Top Four from the original run. Though after watching Tomb of the Cybermen, Troughton became my favorite Doctor. Narrowly beating out Tom Baker and Pertwee.

Tom Baker since his incarnation of The Doctor was my introduction to classic Who.

He IS "The Doctor" the DEFINITIVE ARTICLE. The only Doctor who ever had the opportunity of being the "definitive article" was the first Doctor...
Right up until the end of THE TENTH PLANET.

The poor fellow was probably still confused after the recent trauma of regeneration.

So you agree with Harry Sullivan, over the Doctor? You know what he would say about that:

So you agree with Harry Sullivan, over the Doctor? You know what he would say about that: Well, he'd just suffered a physical shock after an extended period of psychological trauma, so he was obviously suffering from stress and didn't know what he was saying or doing.
