I'm just wondering if they would build teepee towers with many floors and groups of teepees with halls leading to the next etc. I don't mean evolved in a more civilized or intelligent way. Have you googled Cahokia or Mesa Verde yet ? The idea of "Teepee towers" sounds like something out of a Looney Toons cartoon. Missed opportunity WB.

Some of the biggest cities built in the ancient world were in the Americas. Cahokia at the height of its occupation had more residents than London in the same time period. There are some interesting documentaries about Cahokia and some of the western "cliff cities" which are readily available on YouTube. I happened to have watched several of them just before this thread appeared so the question of "evolution" was particularly striking.

It's against their religion. Did they all subscribe to the same religion?

No, I don't think they would have evolved technologically much more than they did, many societies don't evolve much at all. If it hadn't been Europeans, it would have been Asians and the New Worlders would have died from the same diseases. And would probably be living as the lower caste in a largely agrarian society since it was Europe that brought about the industrial revolution. And yes, you could argue they are living as a lower caste now but that's by choice, they could have integrated and would have been much better off.
