Wanda (1970). Barbara Loden portrays an unemployed, divorced young woman who inadvertently joins a bank robber.
Good movie. Maybe it's still on YouTube -- been wanting to re-watch it.

Would all the versions of MADAME X (Ruth Chatterton. Gladys George, Lana Turner) qualify?

It might help if you gave more qualifiers- should the movie be mainly centered on her? I can think of many movies but it would be helpful to know more of what you want.
Off the top, The Sterile Cuckoo comes to mind with Liza as the purest version of a woman rejected by society

Air Doll - 7.5/10 If you liked "Her" or "Lars and the Real Girl", you'll probably like this.

Pookie was definitely an individual. I liked that she chased him, and how he eventually was annoyed by her, but I did feel for her.
To answer your question, I'd say the more, the better. I like dialogue, but if it's a great movie, I don't mind if we can see what's happening as she sits alone in a living room and cries while she listens to The Carpenters, for example.

Here's a good single outcast woman, I think: From Chunking Express. She's quirky. She overplays California Dreaming at high volumes; she sneaks into people's apartments and adjusts things here and there. I sometimes wonder what she does in her spare time. Not being my wife, which is unfortunate.

Perhaps an obvious recent example, Nomadland.
Also Kelly Reichardt's Wendy and Lucy and Certain Women (particulary the third "episode"). Though I recall you may have mentioned already seeing Wendy and Lucy and not liking it much
Tsai Ming-liang's films deal with lonely characters on the fringes, though more often men. Vive LÁmour, The Hole, and What Time is it There do feature women for a substantial part of the runtime. The Hole also features surreal musical interludes, something I found a positive but it may not be what you're after.
