I second that, so long as the bad guy isn't Luthor or Zod, the only two bad guys that can apparently show up in Superman movies. I agree, it's long over due for a Superman film to feature new villians and threats, that we haven't seen in any previous movie before. The problem with Supes, I think, is the lack of a great rogues’ gallery because he’d so easily overpower so many of them. You can’t do much with, say, Toyman or the Prankster because Superman could just pick them up by their necks, drop them on Gilligan’s Island, and be done with them. He won’t, for the sake of the story, any more than he’d kill them, but he could, and that reduces any tension. (With Luthor, he’s got the whole super-intelligence thing going on, so he and Supes are closer to equals, albeit in different ways.) And some of them, notably Mr. Mxyzptlk, I just can’t imagine working well onscreen. That said, there definitely are some villains who would work for the movies. Brainiac, of course, but I also think Hollywood could do a really great movie with Cyborg Superman (maybe just don’t call him that).

Nalkarj I think he’s got a solid enough rogues galley. It’s just not taken advantage of as much as say, Batman. Brainiac, Metallo, Cyborg Superman, plus I think Mongul, Lobo, Maxima, or Parasite could be interesting on film. From a design standpoint and their powers, I think other villains like Atomic Skull, Silver Banshee, and Imperiex could lend for cool action scenes.

The characters themselves are solid, I agree, but I always think Superman could so easily overpower so many of these guys, which is why the writers have to keep giving them kryptonite or making them kryptonite-powered. Still, maybe I’m being unfair: No sooner did I click post than I thought that, say, a movie with Bizarro (not an example of the easily overpowerable villain) could work, especially if he starts off as an intelligent being and slowly, unwillingly becomes the Frankenstein’s Monster.

Hell I plum forgot about Bizarro.

A stand-alone Superman sequel to Man of Steel I second that, so long as the bad guy isn't Luthor or Zod, the only two bad guys that can apparently show up in Superman movies. Don't forget Ross Webster, Gus Gorman, Lenny Luthor (oh, right), and, last but certainly not least, Nuclear Man!

STAR TREK AWAKENS - the old gang cameos and the young kids take over Actually, that would have been much better than what we got. And I'm not talking about a cast photograph from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.

I second that, so long as the bad guy isn't Luthor or Zod, the only two bad guys that can apparently show up in Superman movies. I wasn't a fan of "Man of Steel" and really don't care one way or another if a sequel to that film is made... However, even going all the way back to the Christoper Reeve films... The Lex Luthor/Luthor Like villain "requirement" that was in every film, got old fast. That was probably the worst thing about Superman III... Ross Webster and his gang? That's the best that they could come up with? A cheap copy of Lex Luthor?... Puke. They were not down to the "last bean" of ideas... They had plenty of "beans" to chose from... And what they came up with was pathetic and inexcusable. However, Let's be honest here, Richard Pryor's performance of the Gus Gorman character was actually pretty good... But when he was the "best" villain that was featured in the film, that's what made that film bad. I heard they originally conceived of a genuine Bizarro or Brainiac appearing in the film... and we only got cheap copies of those in the end, instead... And as much as some people would disagree about Richard Pryor's performance, and hated the Gus Gorman MEETS Superman" concept of the film... If it had the real Bizarro or Brainiac villains in the film, it would have made it a whole lot better. I agree, it's long over due for a Superman film to feature new villians and threats, that we haven't seen in any previous movie before. C'mon, man! Robert Vaughn was hilarious! The Man From U.N.C.L.E., who was actually later played by another Superman.

A sequel to Doom 2005. It could have taken inspiration from Doom 2 Hell on Earth.

A sequel to The David Essex brace, That'll Be The Day and Stardust would intrigue me.
Mega Rock Star, Jim McClaine died of an o.d. at the end of Stardust.......or DID HE ?
I reckon he could have faked it to get away from the trappings of fame.....and lived a quiet recluse's life in his chateau. He's clean and together now.......and wants to make music again in 2022. David Essex, Ringo, Karl Howman, Dave Edmunds, Paul Nicholas, Ros Ayers, Peter Duncan are still about, I think, bless'em, unfortunately not J.R. and Adam Faith and Marty Wilde.
I would like to see his musical return following the sensational press news that he hadn't died...and musical succes in this current time in a part 3.
Also Blues Brothers 3, whereat the boys and band were frozen........ and reawakened in the year 3OOO by a revolutionary sect in a dystopian, bleak future, to bring music back to the starved masses.
