A Naboo Starfighter? That’s crap. How can he fit his bounties in there?

A side note… What was up with those speeder bikes of the cyborg biker gang?!? They looked like something rejected by Mystery Science Theater 3000 or early incarnations of Doctor Who. Not very Star Wars. I’m sure the prop department stole them from a carnival!
Every time I saw those things I found myself wanting to say “Skittles! Taste the rainbow!”

Yeah! Every time I saw those bikes I found myself wanting to say “Skittles! Taste the rainbow!” Rodriguez needs to reel in some of the uncharacteristic visuals and character behavior. I think that’s all it needs. There’s things to like about this show but those things are a problem. And yeah, the writing needs to come up with some genuine plots. Right now the story teases plots but nothing has substantiated. And peaceful Sand People… it doesn’t even sound right let alone what it looks like onscreen. Maybe the weak points will get better. Maybe.

A Naboo Starfighter? That’s crap. How can he fit his bounties in there? It's a cool idea to have Mando trade his bulky flying bus for a sleek hotrod of ship, but I agree. It's not exactly practical for his line of work.

One episode being left to Mando was alright because it was a) awesome and b) a welcome distraction from the boring story we had so far. Another episode on top of that is too much, though.
There’s only seven episodes in this show. If two of them have a combined two minutes of screen time for Boba and literally almost nothing to do with his main story, you’re looking at a practical admission of uselessness for the entire show as a whole.
It seems like the episode two weeks ago was to setup Mando S3 and this one was setting up some kind of Luke/Grogu show. They’re both great episodes, but it almost feels like the entire purpose of this show is to setup future shows.

He still has time to get over Mando. Luke wouldn’t really give him a choice.

The character is more irrelevant than Rose Tico.

One of the religions George Lucas based the Jedi after was Buddhism. In Buddhism, part of the process of selecting a new Dalai Lama is to lay various objects in front of a boy and have him choose one. If he chooses the correct one, he becomes the Dalai Lama. He only gets one opportunity. When I saw the scene, I instantly thought of that. Luke is having Grogu choose one in order to assess if he should be a Jedi. The thing about Grogu staying with Luke is that he'll likely die if he stays with him. Let's not forget that the DT lurks in the corner reminding us of the disappointing writing to come...

Grogu is safer with Luke than with Mando. If the Jedi order gave every toddler the chance to leave when they were distracted then they wouldn’t have any students left. The fact is that Mando should never have returned to see Grogu, it was dangerous.

I was thinking about it earlier and I think they were surprised by the immediate love and success for The Mandalorian to the point that they’ve started to rush a new “universe” around it. Hindsight, they should’ve just made the equivalent of a live-action Clone Wars show called “The New Republic” or something. Then they could do these small three-to-four episode arcs on Luke/Grogu, Boba Fett, Ahsoka, etc. with a slight emphasis on Mando. I don’t know if you’ve seen The Clone Wars show, but Mando S2 and this are really a lot like that show (TBoBF more so). Lots of random arcs that combine to make a full show with a similar common end goal. I wonder if they did it over again if they’d just call it something more general and make all of these shows one live-action series for the gap between 6 and 7 the way Clone Wars was an animated show between 2 and 3.

Thing is...we know Grogu is going to pick Mando. If he didn't these last two episodes would literally be pointless.
Also, please no Boba season 2. These 2 Mando episodes have made it very clear how boring he is compared to the Mandalorian.

I still haven't got around to watching that show yet. It may have worked in live action. I agree they were surprised by The Mandalorian's reception. Hopefully they don't get too greedy with spin-offs. They should focus on getting the remainder of The Mandalorian right first, then build from there.
