The only few times the newer Bond films has managed to make my pulse go up a bit, is when the either re-use the classic main theme or adds a few ques from the old music of Barry, which for my part, says everything about how much I get out of the generic and dull the soundtracks that has gone on for far too long.

I love it when dark, violent and rather nasty films, end up making great use of having some of the most beautiful, relaxing and rather fragile or just sweet innocent music there is, as the complete opposite of what is going on at the scenery. But when it works, it is very hard to forget, and some has that lasting or haunting impact on me, and while not every film becomes a big favorite, I do often end up coming back, because of all the stunning music they have to offer.
Pino Donaggio - Telescope - Body Double (1984)
Always been a huge fan of these 80s pulsating and laidback synth themes, which does remind a bit of what Tangerine Dream did with Love on a Real Train, and Risky Business (1983).
Michel Rubini - Graham's Theme - Manhunter (1986)
I love this movie and main theme, which seems to have several different versions, and sadly my favorite, the more low key version, is not on the original soundtrack. Still, the upbeat one, is damn good, but something about the more slower and atmospheric one, which just is so well used in several important places and scenes.
Michael Nyman - Fish Beach - The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (1989)
Not sure if this is the main theme of the film mentioned above, and when I first saw it, I thought it would be a complete misfire, yet it somehow grew fast on me, due to the use of music and mood, but of course also what went on throughout the film, along with some fantastic performances.

A great theme, from a great film. The opening scene is such a good way of setting up for what to come, and it does not disappoint one bit, from there on.
Giorgio Moroder - Chase Midnight Run Theme (1978)

One of those weird movie accidents, that many seems to either hate or love, but usually agree comes with a solid soundtrack.
Think the film actually got a Blu-ray put out, no long ago. Not sure if I want to double-dip, as I already own the movie and the music score, but love the sleazy adult theme of Cool World, but not so much when Holli ends up into the real world.
Not the main theme, I believe that is from David Bowie, but something about this tune which really works so well in the whole early 90s dance, techno and house scene, that is used so well in the score:

I don't know if this is a theme song for the film that it is from, but I heard it recently and thought that it was a good one.
God bless you always!!!
