I've just got a news that an animated film named 'Your Name' will get an IMAX release in the UK on August 23:

Here's where the problem comes in - that's when 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' is getting re-released and given who directed the film, it's possible that this could also get an IMAX release.
So here are some of my questions: 1. Will 'Your Name' get an IMAX release in the US as well? Why or why not? 2. If yes for the above, will it share IMAX release with 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' or take all IMAX screens for itself?

There are still no plans to have a IMAX release for T2, only the 3D release. And since there is no news at all about it, and it is being released in just over 2 months, the odds aren't good that it will be released in IMAX.

'Finding Dory' IMAX release was confirmed less than a month before its release.
