Obviously, I loved Salems Lot! Also The Stand, Gary Sinese was perfect as Stu.

Sometimes They Come Back was one of the best mini-series every written about monogamy and commitment. In it, Tim Matheson addresses the problems of abusive political authority.

I'm going strictly by memory here (which could be faulty), but I don't think this was a mini-series, but a stand-alone made for TV film.

The Stand is still my favorite of his mini-series.
I watched it back in the day and have revisited it on DVD a time or two since.
Could it have been done better? Definitely.
The cast is an interesting combination, but the acting is spotty throughout.

O right, slipped my mind completely. There's this theory now that if a series is only one episode you can call it a micro-series. Had you heard this?

The Stand. There was a campsite up north(close to the Dells) that had a cornfield across the road. I used to read it all the time when we would go up there. I know King didn't like the movie, but I did. Kingdom Hospital I loved also. Langoliers, was the worst for me. I couldn't get past Balki Bartokomous playing "evil".

I bought "Kingdom Hospital" on dvd last year and still not viewed. I just happened to find it in a bargain bin to add to my collection. I have to stop doing that, lol. Has anyone seen it? Any good? I also have this TV Mini Series on DVD too Get Smart Archer ( bought it back around 2006 to my recollection ? ) . Although I can't speak for anyone here on this IMPO - I was really very taken with this unique show and it was suppose to have become a full on series with this being the original pilot movie too . Unfortunately that never happened . This mini series has a bit of everything - a great mix of dark comedy / drama , with a historical time travel-like storyline, an intriguing array of modern day musical hits throughout , and all with a ghostly edge - all at the same time too . It seems to move along at a very reasonable pace as well - does not drag out . I recommend giving this show a try after all it's already part of your DVD Collection now ( and if by a weird chance you don't like it at least you didn't spend top dollar on this either ? ) .

"It" is my favorite. I'm also a big fan of "The Stand" and "The Shining" (Kubrick's movie is WAAAAY overrated).

How can this be a favorite when it hasn't even been released yet? The Mist came out in 2007. Maybe you are referring to some remake/reboot or series, yet to be released. Now, I thought it was a mini-series because I remember seeing it on tv, but it may have just been a television airing of a theatrical release. Here is a link to Wikipedia info about the movie: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mist_(film)I remember reading the book and watching the (I guess movie) It was about these people trapped in a supermarket. They were under attack by these monster or alien type creatures in the midst. People who went outside were attacked and/or killed. But of course some brave intrepid souls live through the ordeal.

Yeah, that version of The Mist is a theatrical movie. There's going to be a TV series re-adaption of King's story later this year. Not really looking forward to it. King's story is one of my favorites from him but it doesn't need to be extended with more character relationship drama, which I'm sure is what the TV series is going to do.

I had not heard about the TV series re-adaption until now, but my concern is it could be like Under the Dome. The series for me was disappointingly different from the book. There were characters not in the book, and those that were there were just different.

The Stand for sure. I thought it was very true to the novel, and I love Gary Sinise. I also liked Bag of Bones, but I know I'm in the minority. I loved the book, and I love Pierce Brosnan.

The Stand is one of my favourites....I like IT too but mainly because of Tim Curry I totally agree here lenny64 - The Stand was another beloved favorite of mine as well . As for SK's IT - IMPO - only the fine Tim Curry could make this role of " Pennywise the Monster Clown " be so scary and comedic at the same time ( and could never see anyone else playing this unique role other than him - ever ) .
