Hello there again Deb it's so good to chat with you here as always !! So sorry about your cousin but very relieved she wasn't seriously hurt
car accidents always seem so frightfully unpredictable ( also quite unreal in that moment )
and sometimes after it happens can feel like it was a waking nightmare as well . I actually didn't know there was to be other " Poltergeist Sequels " after part 3
these other sequels would have been definitely worth creating . IMPO - It certainly wouldn't be the same now to be able
to easily replace this fine young actress
she had such a unique style all her own that just couldn't be matched ( even actor Julian Beck was also a tough act to follow ) . Thanks so much Deb for your reply .
It is nice to talk to you on here too and thank you for the kind words and you would be happy to know that my cousin is recovering and she is taking things one step at a time, so to speak and won't be returning to work for a while but her husband and her came over here for dinner the other night and she isn't going out to many places apart from the chiropractor's which she has to see regularly from now on until her back and shoulder are better but she came here for dinner and we had Sticky Date Pudding for dessert which is one of her favourites. What happened to my cousin was a big shock to all of us and we are just happy she is alright 'cause she could no longer be with us now and I have lost people who were close to me in a car accident. They are always unpredictable and sadly her car has to be replaced but her being okay is the main thing. I didn't know there were meant to be other sequels for the 'Poltergeist' either until I read about it in a magazine a decade ago and the studio planned on continuing the franchise with Heather O'Rourke up until she was an adult and I am interested in what those movies would have been like and think they could have ended up being pretty good.
Some people didn't like the third movie but I thought it was good and we always watch the 'Poltergeist' movies in a row and 2 is my favourite and I agree that it would be difficult to replace Heather but if they choose to continue the franchise like I read they might be I am not sure what direction they could go in unless they went with something completely different this time. By the way, another franchise I have been meaning to ask you if you like is 'Phantasm' and have you watched any of the 'Phantasm' movies mszanadu 'cause looking at the type of Horror movies you have said you liked I think you might enjoy and much like 'Poltergeist' I liked 2 the most and was disappointed when they killed off Liz 'cause I think the franchise would have been better if they had kept it going with Mike, Liz and Reggie.
Hello there again Deb !!
I'm so glad that your cousin is on the mend now
and that she had a nice home cooked dinner
plus her favorite dessert at your home with the family as well .
I do remember the other 2 Poltergeist sequels
when these were new and in the cinemas .
If I remember correctly I did see
both sequels on the big screen years ago also .
I totally agree with you on really liking the 3rd sequel
it seemed to wrap up the entire storyline nicely
for all 3 of these films too .
As for the '' Phantasm Film Series "
I remember this one very well
and these actually make
my Halloween movie list of films as well
( Reggie is one of my top favorite characters also !! ) .
Thanks so much again Deb for your awesome reply here too .

Finally got a chance to watch Suspiria (2018). I have to agree with some comments and reviews I read that say the movie drags a lot. I think it could have easily been about 30 minutes shorter.
The climax was OTT but fun enough. The epilogue was not needed.

Rather a so-so Puppet Master-Demonic Toys crossover, where the puppets don’t come face to face until the last 10mins and the story sort plays out like ‘Halloween 3: Season of the Witch’. Production wise, this non Full Moon venture was better made than a lot of the post-2000s Full Moon productions of both series. Corey Feldman was amusingly cringe-like playing an older father figure (a Toulon descendant) with his really convincing gravel voice & grey streaks. 😀

The Editor
Self-aware send-up of classic giallo that was a little on-the-nose and up its ass to completely work, but was nevertheless fun and pretty to look at. Still, forced irony is pretty painful to watch no matter what form it takes.
5/10

Thale (2012).
Although I have never heard of or seen this film before
from the Wikipedia write up it actually seems similar
to this more recent movie here also ( IMPO ) .
Thanks so much Chalice_Of_Evil
for this movie recommendation here too .

The Thing (1982)
Re-watched this for the umpteenth time last night, to commemorate the films' 37th anniversary.
Although my enjoyment has been diminished somewhat by so many viewings over the years, this still stands tall as one of John Carpenters' finest achievements. A master class in paranoia, with a first-rate cast, a chilling & creepy Ennio Morricone score, and a truly impressive menagerie of outrageous creature and gore effects devised by Rob Bottin & Stan Winston.

Thale (2012). Good little Norwegian film. Had some unique touches, and Silje Reinamo was rather hypnotic. Although I was somewhat put off by the English dub that I had to rewatch again in its native language.

for this movie recommendation here too . I'd definitely recommend checking it out, mszanadu . Thank you for your recommendation too. I know of Bel Powley from other films I've seen her in (plus, it has Liv Tyler in it), so I'll certainly check it out if it's ever on TV here...though I don't know how likely that is, since it doesn't even appear to be out on DVD here yet. Although I was somewhat put off by the English dub that I had to rewatch again in its native language. Yes, Silje Reinåmo definitely had an hypnotic quality about her as Thale. I actually owe my knowing about this film to HirundoRustica , who recommended it to me. Thankfully, I've only ever watched it with subtitles and no English dubbing.

I totally agree here Chalice_Of_Evil
that's an excellent vampire film indeed and so effectively creepy / eerie too .
Also the all star cast and the music scores are so hauntingly brilliant and unforgettable .
Thanks so much again for your reply .

Not sure if it's right to but this one here, but it is the horror of the end of the world. When Worlds Collide 1951, directed Rudolph Maté, bosed on a Edwin Balmer and Philip Wylie, starring Richard Derr, Barbara Rush, Peter Hansen, John Hoyt, Larry Keating, Hayden Roarke and others, but the real star is George Pal's tricks and miniatures, that I guess was once sensational. As a new star and planet hurtle toward a doomed Earth, a small group of scientists frantically work to complete a rocket which will take them to their new home, the planet Zyra. The actors and the acting is appropriately cardboard, since they only fill out the time between Pal's trick work and miniatures. Might have been sensational back in 1951, now they are kinda cute and naivistical, but that doesn't matter, it's still fun to watch. Paramount bought the rights of the book since their darling Cecil B. DeMille had showed some interest in filming the two novels (yes, it was two novels, the part two is called "After Worlds Collide"), and was planned as a big budget movie. DeMille lost interest after awhile, and the property went to George Pal with a drastically cut budget. The lower budget is very evident once they land on the new planet, it's obviously sketch drawings, but matte paintings was being made, but Paramount had a gap in their distrubution and rushed into the cinemas instead. Pal was promised that he could film part too if Collide did a profit, it did a bigger profit than expected, and Pal was ganded another propert instead, War of the Worlds, that made an even bigger profit, and was handed Conquest of Space, but that one flopped, so part two of Collide was never made. A remake of When Worlds Collide has been planned on and off since 2005. At some point Steven Spielberg was going to produce and Steven Sommers was to direct.

The 2009 reboot of "V". Granted I haven't watched the original. But I am almost done with season 2. It's pretty good. Hoping it doesn't end on a cliffhanger.
A bit surprised they announced they wanted to make a series of "V" films recently.

A Stephen King mini-series adaptation with an intriguing concept, but that was about it.

I was drawn in by its setup (especially Part 1 - The Plague), but less so on the journey to its payoff. A solid cast helps keep it ticking along.
