Watched Cult of Chucky, Fiona Dourif is like a clone of her father, same face and mannerisms, similar voice, it's almost creepy. I knew who she must be even before reading the credits. The movie wasn't bad but it gets shaky near the end and then apparently Chucky got a sex change. Not sure how I feel about that.

Oh. Sorry to hear you were not a fan of it Toasted Cheese. I personally like both the original and the remake but I enjoy the original the most especially the expanded version. As far as remakes go I didn't think it was bad though and was one of the few I enjoyed and I liked it a lot more than the remake of 'Day of the Dead' which really paled in comparison to the original. I am curious if you have seen the 'Night of the Living Dead' remake with Tony Todd 'cause I really liked that movie and thought it was even better than the original but that is just me.
I love the expanded version over the theatrical cut of the original and I am usually drawn to the faster paced tighter edits. The extra scenes in the mall really enhance the dramatic quality of the film and I just love the whole feel of Dawn Of The Dead - 78'. Have seen the Argento cut once, but I feel like I am missing out on stuff and I don't like the change of score either.
I really like Savini's version of Night Of The Living Dead -90'. He took a familiar scenario, put his own little spin on it and made it tense and exciting. I enjoy both, but would prefer to watch Savini's version over Romero's here.
I agree. The extra scenes in the Extended version of 'Dawn of the Dead' were a good addition to the movie and I am kinda the opposite with movies sometimes and like seeing longer versions of movies I like with additional scenes 'cause you get to see them do more with the characters and I don't know if you saw the Extended Version of 'Re-Animator' but I think that added to it too. I am curious as to how many deleted scenes there were in the 'Nightmare On Elm Street' movies 'cause I have heard Robert Englund speak about them in interviews but haven't seen them on any of the DVDs and I remember you saying on here the 'Friday the 13th' movies had heaps of scenes cut out of them 'cause they were considered too violent at the time and a lot has changed since then and they probably wouldn't be seen as that violent anymore so I think they should release some of them in Extended versions with the scenes they cut. Thanks for leting me know your thoughts on 'Night of the Living Dead (1990)' and that is a good movie and I didn't see that movie until after I saw 'Candyman' so it was fun seeing Tony Todd playing the good guy instead of the villain.
Have you seen any of the Full Moon movies like the 'Puppet Master', 'Subspecies', 'Demonic Toys', 'Trancers' and 'Gingerdead Man' movies? I love the 'Puppet Master' and 'Subspecies' movies and those are some of my all time favs.

Wild Beasts (1984) Re-watchCrazy Italians are at it again. Purely no holds barred exploitation. Sometimes uncomfortable, while other times outrageous. PCP infected water finds its way into a city zoo causing the wild animals to go berserk and break out. Leading to all-out mayhem in this nasty, and gory little eco-shocker.

I'm always up for some good ol' schlocky Italian horror. It is schlocky, and rather abrupt in its story. There are a couple memorable set-pieces involving a cheetah, one with a polar bear and another with a herd of elephants. Although if you’re an animal lover there are some distressing scenes; rats being burnt to a crisp, decapitated horse heads graphically cut up to be fed to lions, and wild animals (lions, hyenas) attacking livestock (cattle, pigs)... and I don’t think it’s stock footage either .

The Sister of Ursula (1978)A vicious and sordid Italian giallo, which doesn’t hold back on the sleaze and soft-core as a seaside resort is terrorised by a killer who hides in the shadows before using a sizeable phallus (shown in silhouette) on the female victims. You also got a drug trafficking sub-plot tied into it all. Rather flimsy, especially the plot with its stuffy dramatics and predictable reveal, however the filming locations are indeed stunning.

I wasn't aware that there is an extended version or Re-Animator. While amusing, it has not really been a go to film experience for me. I like Gordon's From Beyond more.
Yes, I don't think the original series of the Friday films from the 80's would have the same censor troubles today. Many horror films released today are far more graphic and sadistic than what these had to offer. It would be great to see them released with all the extra gore and violence footage inserted back in. This has been in contention since the 90's, but Paramount apparently won't budge, but they did release the extra footage as extras. Apparently, one of the myth's is, is that they are embarrassed by the films and that they made a lot of money off junk. They may not think it would be worth the cost to restore them as well, just to appease a small contingency of fans. I think Part 2 could really benefit from the excised footage, because while an excellent entry, it is one of the tamest. 5, 6 and 7 would also benefit. I feel Part 3 and Part 4 are fine as they are. You may find some of the excised footage on you tube. Part 4 The Final Chapter, as released initially in the US was quite graphic. The longer excised footage actually ruins some of the kills, because the lingering shows up how fake looking some of it is. Part 4 was heavily censored in the UK upon original cinema release in 84' and was banned outright here in OZ. They ended up releasing the truncated UK version here and nearly every kill was cut out, as to render its impact impotent. It was still rated R18+ though. I was lucky to see it when I was living in NZ, and they released the full US 'R' rated cut. NZ gave it an R16 rating with the censor note: Graphic Violence May Disturb. Unfortunately for NZ though, they got the cut OZ version on vhs. They did the same with Exterminator 2, making it suitable for t.v. and still giving it an R rating.
I know of those movies you have listed, but I haven't seen any of them. It is nice to get new recommendations and I know I can rely on you Deb. Hi Toasted Cheese
Yes. There is an extended version of 'Re-Animator.' We got it a few years ago at JBHIFI for the movie's 30th anniversary and the extended version is called the 'Integral Version' and the difference is the original movie only went for 86 minutes where the 'Integral version' goes for 104 minutes and it makes it almost feel like a different movie with the additional scenes and I think some of the scenes might have even been alternate versions from the ones they had in the original movie. I remember reading they were going to do the same thing with the other two movies ('Bride of Re-Animator' and 'Beyond Re-Animator') but it never happened so they must have changed their mind or are holding it off for a later date. I liked 'From Beyond' too and there was an Unrated Director's Cut released of that at JBHIFI around the same time we got on Blu Ray and I am surprised Hollywood hasn't attempted to remake these movies yet with all the other movies they have remade in the last two decades. A 'Re-Animator' remake could probably work but it might be hard to replace Jeffrey Combs 'cause he was so popular in the role of Dr. Herbert West.
I wouldn't mind seeing them bring back 'Demons' and remake it if they made it in a different location 'cause then it would be like a third movie and not a remake and I always thought it was a shame we didn't get more of those movies 'cause there were a lot of other places they could have had them in and we could have found out more about the demons with somebody possibly finding a way to cure some of them or something that was their weakness and could be used against them. I am still confused over who trapped the people inside of the movie theatre and the hotel in 1 and 2 and how they even did that. Clearly the demons weren't the brightest and they were more like mindless zombies just looking to kill so somebody or something more powerful was behind that. Thanks for letting me know all of that information about the 'Friday the 13th' movies and I think a lot of these old Horror movies could benefit from it 'cause it would get fans buying them again and the ones that have the most additional footage would probably sell a lot. It is strange why they haven't already done it and I have heard some studios weren't fans of the movies and thought they were garbage but we are seeing how much some Horror movies are making at the Box Office and on DVD/Blu Ray and Digital sales and you think they would be a fan of money.
Wow. I didn't know 'Friday the 13th 4' was banned here in Australia and they banned a lot of movies back then and I remember reading some of the things critics and parent groups would write about the genre in the late 80s and early 90s blaming it on people getting killed and saying it turned people into psychopaths and a lot of the same groups complained about Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and Grudge bands for the lyrics of their songs saying they were Satanic or encouraged people to commit suicide. We still have them now except they complain more about sex and nudity and LGBT representation. They don't complain so much about boobs but the second a penis or a vagina is on the screen they have meltdown over it. You're welcome and I think you might like some of Full Moon movies especially the 'Puppet Master' and 'Subspecies' movies and 'Puppet Master' is one of the longest running Horror franchises and they have a spinoff of Blade (one of the puppets) called 'Blade: The Iron Cross' coming out next year and the puppets are back to being the heroes again.

The Mimic (2017) When I first saw your post I thought that might have been part of the other 'Mimic' franchise that had three movies and there was a fourth movie that came out and I didn't know about it but it is clearly a different one. Have you seen the other 'Mimic' movies and what did you think of them? I liked the first two the most and I didn't hate two but it felt like a ripoff of 'Rear Window' (well, I think it might have been intended to be one) and I would have preferred something more like the first two.

Ouija (2014) - 4.5/10 After all these years I checked it out on Netflix to see how bad it is. It is pretty bad, yes. Pretty boring for the most part. However, I did hear the prequel is actually far superior, so at least I can hope that there will be improvement.
