Is anyone looking forward to the next Chucky?
Chucky movies are all good in their own way. There are no "horrible" ones. Bride was awesome as a comedy, part 2 had the best cinematography and visuals, and part 1 was was great too, had the suspense, and Curse bringing Chucky back to his dark roots. 3 and Seed are the most disliked but even they weren't horrible like the worst Jason movie, there was at least a story and effort there.

They are GARBAGE. Even the original Child's Play was trash. No suspense what so ever.

I sure do enjoy the first 4 films, especially the one where we are introduced to the stunning scream-queen, Jennifer Tilly, but the first one do hold a "special" place, as it was one of the first horror films I saw as a kid, and loved every second of it. Found it later on hilarious that Seinfeld did a spoof/tribute to Chucky where Jerry is having either a nightmare or is very afraid that his apartment is being haunted by a killer doll such as Chucky, and even Georgie Costanza has a episode where his old mum comes to "live" through a creepy red haired doll, that speaks to him in public places. To top it off, I loved the fact that Jerry is quite the fan of horror movies, and has a cool VHS copy of Child's Play 2 standing in his movie collection, through almost all 9 seasons. Gotta be honest, I did not know a new Chucky film was to come out this year, the last was ok, but not good enough to stay in my movie collection, but I guess I will have to check it out, so thanks for the heads up.

I was keen on chucky movie that had the climax set in the toy factory. I'm not sure exactly which one that was. But this was when I was a kid. However I've never really been in to the franchise to be honest.

Yeah, the classic final climax set in a factory, that is always a riot, of course when done right and I think it was in the second one, where we end up seeing a bunch of evil Chucky dolls being mass produced and they were preying on a kid and some blonde (it has been a while since I saw any of the sequels) which might be the mum or some teenybopper, but still it was a cool way of going out with style.

"Looking forward to it" isn't really the right phrase for it. But I'll probably see it at some point. I was glad that "Curse..." brought the series back to its serious roots.
I still haven't seen "Seed". Maybe I'll watch that tonight.

Yeah, Mancini seems to have been a one trick pony who's beating his one idea to death.

That was an awesome scene. Especially when then his arm was being torn like rubber dough. That's all I remember about the movie. I think it was the sequel.

I'm confused why people say Curse took the series back to its serious roots. I remember it being a jokefest.
Anyway, the second is my favorite. Interested in the new one only for Alex Vincent's return (he only had one scene in Curse, and it was by far my favorite part of the movie).

I liked the first 3 more than the subsequent "Bride", "Seed", and "Curse," but I'll check out the new one. I thought when he started with the stitched up face in the 4th, he pulled a Freddy Krueger and was more of a jokester than a creepy killer. Around the time when Chucky dolls started showing up in Spencer's Gift's at malls.
They messed up his look in "Curse" but it had some good ideas and creepy moments. The protagonist being wheelchair bound made Chucky a bit more of a believable threat to her. The elevator scene and scene under the covers were well done. It was strikes and gutters for me.
I really enjoy the character though and considered 2 to be the best, though 1 and 3 are in its league. As long as Brad Dourif wants to keep doing it, I'll keep watching. That maniacal voice coming from such a small doll is really unsettling to me. One line that particularly makes my skin crawl was in the factory scene in 2 when he's threatening to cut Andy's legs off.

Last movie made up for "Seed of Chucky" which was a tad too goofy for me. I'll get around to watching "Cult" but I'm not psyched about it. I watch the series around Halloween sometimes on TV.

i think they're all well made films. some better than the others. 1,3,4 stand out for me. it's a unique series that doesn't seem to have a lazy entry in my opinion. i thought the 7th one gave something fresh, as did some of the others, especially 4. i saw 1 and 3 in the theaters.

Well at least the franchise is better than that lame movie that came out last year named 'The Boy'

After being pleasantly surprised by 'Curse', I'm definitely looking forward to "Cult of Chucky". Here's hoping for something even darker.

Well, despite my previous post in this thread, I enjoyed Cult of Chucky. Mancini is still evolving the storyline and bringing new ideas, and this movie was entertaining for the most part.

I watched the first 3 but after that I was done. Sometimes a fairly reasonable movie idea can be stretched too much and become boring instead of entertaining.

Great movie, the best since the original in my opinion. Fiona Dourif is really good.
