Blackberry is the best movie I’ve seen so far this year.
Barbie, Oppenheimer, Aestroid City and Bottoms would round out my top five so far.

Man that's thorough.
For me it's Past Lives and Across the Spiderverse, followed by GOTG 3, Beau is Afraid and Infinity Pool.
(missed my chance to see Oppenheimer in theaters. No doubts it will join the "best of" list when I do)
All that you devoted to the other categories is deep. I'm not sure if I have the memory, study habits or patience. Well done.

It is something I really enjoy doing. I keep track of it in my head as I watch movies. I am list obsessive. Thank you though.

I havent seen those 5 best yet. My 5 so far: 5. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves 4. Missing 3. The Wrath of Becky2. Scream VI 1. John Wick: Chapter 4 I just watched this movie without realizing it is a sequel. Fun movie. It is always strange seeing Seann William Scott in serious roles. His other serious role was in a horror movie called Bloodline, which he is good in, but I don't like the movie itself.

Still loads of (hopefully) good stuff to come. My number one of the year so far, however, will be hard to topple. Here are my favourites so far - supporting actress is really hard to fill, though. Blunt was okay in Oppenheimer but didn’t have much to do. Foster was the best thing about NYAD but was really a co-lead, and not really award-worthy. Can’t come up with anyone else to fill out the list just yet.
Best Film
1. Anatomy of a Fall 2. Killers of the Flower Moon 3. All of Us Strangers 4. May December 5. Rotting in the Sun
Best Director
1. Justine Triet, Anatomy of a Fall 2. Martin Scorsese, Killers of the Flower Moon 3. Andrew Haigh, All of Us Strangers 4. Sebastian Silva, Rotting in the Sun 5. Todd Haynes, May December
Lead Actor
1. Franz Rogowski, Passages 2. Robert De Niro, Killers of the Flower Moon 3. Andrew Scott, All of Us Strangers 4. Ryan Gosling, Barbie 5. Leonardo Di Caprio, Killers of the Flower Moon
Lead Actress
1. Sandra Hüller, Anatomy of a Fall 2. Natalie Portman, May December 3. Catalina Saavedra, Rotting in the Sun 4. Lily Gladstone, Killers of the Flower Moon 5. Rosy McEwen, Blue Jean
Supporting Actor
1. Milo Machado Graner, Anatomy of a Fall 2. John Magaro, Past Lives 3. Charles Melton, May December 4. Swann Arlaud, Anatomy of a Fall 5. Antoine Reinartz, Anatomy of a Fall
Supporting Actress
1. Julianne Moore, May December 2. Rachel McAdams, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret 3. Adèle Exarchopoulos, Passages 4. Jodie Foster, NYAD 5.

Lead Actress 1. Sandra Hüller, Anatomy of a FallSupporting Actor 1. Milo Machado Graner, Anatomy of a Fall 2. John Magaro, Past Lives 3. Charles Melton, May December 4. Swann Arlaud, Anatomy of a Fall 5. Antoine Reinartz, Anatomy of a Fall Supporting Actress 2. Jehnny Beth, Anatomy of a Fall Great movie and one of the best lead actress performances of the past 10 years. I wanted to pick a supporting actor to put on my list but I had a very difficult time choosing between the 4 main supporting actor performances, so I decided to just go with who you had as the best. I remembered you had nominated the movie for a lot of acting spots. I definitely don't agree with your supporting actress nomination though. She left almost no impression on me.

Yeah, on reflection I agree... she was fine but Sandra and the male cast members left her standing in the dust. It was more down to a dearth of candidates, I certainly wouldn't expect her to hang around on my list.
So happy you appreciated the movie and its cast! It really is a fantastic piece of work that has stayed with me in the weeks since I saw it.

Counting films watched in theatres only.
NOT counting older movies watched in re-releases or in retrospectives.
NOT counting films watched in festivals or that were not distributed widely.
In the order I watched them, NOT in order of preference.
