I'm pretty sure Undo was the only person to get struck by lightning while posting on the Sports board. Came through the house wires and zapped him at the computer. andyway5 once called me "billygay" which I thought was pretty funny. I forget which of the U's was the Braves fanatic, I think it was Undo, not Unforgiven. I think Undo was watching a Braves game and posting on the Sports board when he was struck by lightning.

Mostly footie stuff but he was trying to learn about American sports. He died really young, some accident I think. Carl would know who I meant
Marco's D-Day posts were hilarious. Inevitably, some Brit would take him seriously and have a conniption.
Swimming accident. He drowned in a quarry. There was a Spanish guy, Portuguese maybe, who was a chess master and died of a heart attack.

Obnoxious as hell

He drowned. For a long time we kept his What Do You Think of Tara Reid thread (or Opinions on Tara Reid?) bumped, which he got a kick out of. Kept it going after he died but hit the posting limit and fell off the board.

The guy who drowned was St. Kildan. The Portuguese chess master who died was Tubba Glorioso. The obnoxious Portuguese guy was Portuguese Playboy. filmboards.com/board/p/35124/1/

Was Granny the Rays fan? I forgot how many people posted there. marsexplorer was another good guy Remember BoSoxRule? A perfect encapsulation of the sporting climate at a time when the NY/Boston rivalry was at its highest in recent years. The likes of Marco and Strel vs BoSux was the height of sports board theater. BoSux sent Marco a PM saying: "say anything to me again and I'll kill you" - a message that Marco gleefully shared with the board.

Millar too. I remember him going on about how hot his sisters were. Either Marco or Strel goaded him into posting pics of his sisters. I never seen the pics but I guess they weren't all that. He really was BoSuxFool. I never would have posted a pic of my sister, me or anyone I knew.
Remember The Deer Hunter? How could anyone forget? That thread went on for years. And a thread about a sofa. Beardy was part of that

Granny hated baseball and thought people who followed MLB were morons, which I always thought was a little weird for a sports board.
We're discussing a professional sport on a sports board, you dick.

BoSoxRule's sig: I'm happiest...in the saddle. I never would have remembered anyone sig. Except Strel's
"You're future is all used up". One of my favorite quotes from Touch of Evil

Great quote. I hated Strel for years, but he grew on me after a while and I came to appreciate his shtick. Sule was another one who, from my early days on the board, we hated each other. Over time, we grew to appreciate each other and even communicated for a while outside of the board. Good dude, a bit nutty, but his heart was in the right place.

But I could talk to Strel about classic movies and Sule about music. Actually, I liked everyone there to a degree. DeNiro's shtick got a bit stale at times but he was entertaining

Framus and loz-1 had some good musical takes. I saved a bunch of loz's best album polls.

That was the only shtik I just couldn't stand, which I guess was his point so mission accomplished by him. So many great posters back then. Was almost a guaranteed laugh every time you came on to read the posts.

Was it Carl LaFong's that was "You're my wife now" (hidden)?
