"PRETENTIOUS"
I saw people throwing that word around a lot on the other movie discussion board. It had a certain irony to it and it really annoyed me.
Also, in today's rap music ... it's like every other song has to have these phrases:
"Ten toes down" "I got the Wraith" "...with the shits"

TRENDING.
I'm not sure why but I just can't stand this word.

Hacks-no thanks. I prefer the word "ideas". Hipster-reminds me more of female underpants. Showing my age. Snowflake- the term "Flake" would be good enough. Racist-people are throwing this term around a lot nowadays, and most of it has to do with which political party you voted for and not about racism itself. SJW-I take it this stands for "Social Justice Warriors" or whatever. Big deal. Trending-It's just the flavor of the month.

The word "intergalactic" when 9 times out of 10 it is being used for the definition of intragalactic. Even scientists do this.

Self-medicating
When you feel sick, and decide to take a few pills "Oh you are self-medicating! Oh horrors!"

I really hate "I got this", especially in movies. It's overused and exudes the worst kind of self absorbed arrogance.
Also "Hashtag" and "Trending". Society has become so obnoxiously trendy and social media obsessed.

New one..."Nothing-Burger". First popped up a few weeks ago. Now everyone, libs and cons are using it. It feels so stupid when everyone starts falling in line with a new expression, especially when it is moronic!

The use of "RACE" when actually referring to "ETHNICITY". The use of "race" as a divider and categorizer at all when it comes to that. Human RACE <full stop> And I can't stand the use of "RACE" when actually referring to "SPECIES".

He isn't your baby daddy he is father of your child I think you need to familiarize yourself with ghettospeak. "My baby daddy" means "My baby 's daddy". So, all she's saying by calling him "baby daddy" is that he's the father of her child.

"Don't be mad at me..."
A person says this when they know you are going to get mad at them but they think if they say this first, it protects them. Sometimes followed by
"Don't be that way!" when the first one doesn't work.

I have no idea what SJ refers to, unless it is South Jersey.

I know I have ranted this before somewhere or other but:
Trolls calling anyone who challenges them a "troll" really gets me %^$$#@! ... um, let us just say a tad annoyed.
Ditto for being called a "stalker" for having the nerve to be in the same thread as the persona mentioned in rant #1. Often there ahead of said persona.
People... the more you see of them, the more you appreciate canines.

oh yes, an adjunct to "no offense" which the person thinks if they say that first, they can insult you all they want, and you will not be able to object, because they stated they meant no offense.
I think Vincent & Mia covered something like this in Pulp Fiction

Obituary or Birthday Thread
Some yahoo is bound to pop up and say:
"Sorry but, I never liked them.. blahblahblah.." and end with either "r.i.p. and condolences to their families" OR "happy birthday".
That "sorry" sure makes the poorly timed put-downs ok! (not)
Grrrrr !
