I'm assuming the last "Divergent" movie which was split in two but never got the second half made. I thought the last one was released straight to streaming, or am I thinking of something else? There was going to be some TV thing, but nothing really came through AFAIK. |

Never mind the fact that I had been MORE than entertained for over two hours......upon leaving the theater 44 years ago this summer after seeing The Empire Strikes Back (1980), ALL I could think of was how INCREDIBLY ripped off I felt at its unresolved ending........not, uh, that it STILL bothers me or anything..... In agreement with CK100 , the Divergent Movie Series left in limbo by cancellation of the
last film , probably due to the waning finances and internal fights of Lionsgate Productions
at that time . And now the actors are too old to play their younger selves , anymore .
Divergent was a great complex and well directed movie series like Hunger Games , and
the last movie would have tied up all the loose ends , probably only achieved by some
writer working on a script for some time . One of my favorite post-apocalyptic series !
But Lionsgate has done it again (maybe intentionally) with their other franchise , Hunger
Games , with the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes , a movie which deliberately leaves the
viewer hanging at the end .

A Clive Barker movie from the early '90s about a society of monsters who live underground beneath a cemetery being threatened by the human world above. It also features David Cronenberg playing a psychotherapist who's a serial killer. He's really creepy in it. Good movie overall. |
