I thought she said "Was that the boogeyman?", but it's been a little while since I've seen it. She says, "That WAS the bogeyman."
Think about it: all movie long she's been telling Tommy there's no such thing. And then she gets confronted with evidence that, indeed, there can be such a thing.
Until Halloween II ruined that grand moment by having Michael simply get up and walk away.

I actually watched this flick when I was home alone for the 2004 4th of July weekend. I rented it from the local Blockbuster Video store. When I got home from work at Old Country Buffet I changed my clothes, popped some popcorn, and then settled in to watch it. My cat Gordie , who was still a kitten decided to be active. As a result I couldn't get a wink of sleep that night. Ever since it's been one of my favorite horror movies.

I just watched the original one. onto part 2 as I type this. I watched Part II last week, and I'll probably watch Part I this weekend. It's playing at my local theater tonight and tomorrow night, but it's only playing at 10pm, and I'm getting too old and tired to be out that late, so I don't know if I'll go see it. Disclosure: the theater also showed it last year, and I saw it then, so I've seen it recently in the theater.

Coincidence or This is one of the very earliest threads on this site, so these posters were some of the first to come here after "the announcement." The admin cleared out a lot of inactive users at one point, so these are probably some of the victims.

This is the way the dialogue goes: Laurie: “Was that the boogeyman?” Dr. Loomis: “As a matter of fact, it was.”

I haven’t seen “Halloween H20” or “Halloween Resurrection”, but, for the most part, I am not a fan of the other sequels. I would have preferred that it just ended with us knowing that Michael is out there...SOMEWHERE!

(4) When Laurie sees Michael standing outside by the clothesline, he's clearly wearing the mask--though the break-in at the hardware store, from which the mask is stolen--doesn't happen until much later. (8) Who taught Michael how to drive? Was this ever addressed? (9) Isn't it kinda disappointing to know Michael's just a chunky guy with dark hair and a double chin? 4. I assumed it had been broken into earlier and Brackett was just now getting there when we see him. 8. He can drive for the same reason he can lift dudes in the air with one hand and survive untold amounts of damage. He's the boogeyman. 9. Chunky? I thought he looked like 70s John Travolta.

She was stuck in the window, she'll be right there.
My #42 all time. Annie really is a fun character, bringing life to the pacing.
I'll add a semi misunderstood non-goof, ppl ask why the gravesite dig is so small & shallow... well, it was merely the gravestone dug out which Michael placed on the bed. Not a body. I guess it's just an instant reaction to see a dig site at a graveyard without putting 2 & 2 together.
There are select films like it whose very opening set the stage - here Carpenter's epic minimalist scary score + the opening 2 credits which seem like a snuff film lols. (another like It's a Wonderful Life's Liberty Studios' bell, locking you in & reminding you it's gonna be great)

Let's revive a dead old conversation! Anyone planning to watch this one this weekend? I may or may not watch it today. Halloween feels a bit too obvious and I've seen it many times already... but not from a Blu-ray I bought some months ago! Halloween II Blu-ray is there to tempt me too since I bought them together.

I'm onto "The Curse of Michael Myers" (theatrical cut) now. It's on a Bluray with "H20". And "Resurrection"

Was just watching this one the other night. Things that made me think a little...
1. Michael killing Judith...she didn't put up much of a fight. She clearly was bigger than he was and she was still very much alive after the first slash with the knife. She could have easily gotten up and broke his wrist.
2. Michael stalking Tommy Doyle at school. Made me wonder if Michael planned to kill him too.
