Let's try this...
9/10
Superb storytelling surrounding the true tale of what turned out to be amazing courage. Mel Gibson just flat out knows how to make great movies. The cast was amazing and Andrew Garfield delivers what should be an award winning performance. The movie really connects on an emotional level and that is its number one strength. Could have used a more faith based context and more depth in to why Army Medic Desmond T. Doss felt the way that he did. I loved the true life interviews spliced in at the end to give resolution and even validation to the movie itself.

I agree it's a wonderful movie and will probably go down as one of my favorite war movies ever. It's easily the best war movie since Saving Private Ryan and I'd second that 9/10 rating.

I went seeing this movie without context, and was blown away. At first I thought these events couldn't have been real, they are too much. Then I saw the fact slides at the end of the movie, and wow.

Some great actors there, especially Andrew Garfield and Hugo Weaving. The latter surely would have deserved it to get an oscar nomination for best supporting actor. For me, this was Gibson's best movie so far.
7,5/10

I also rated it 9/10. Excellent direction and editing, with a great performance from Garfield.

Great film, was glued to it the whole way through, blows Billy Lynn's... outta the water (boring as hell film) - so many great stories to tell and they make one up

I really didn't think I would like this movie. I was surprised that I loved it as much as I did. Out of the 60 plus movies I saw this year, it easily makes my top 5.
4.4/5

I'll second that but i was feeling generous and gave it 10/10. I really like WW2 films/series so Hacksaw Ridge, Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers are right up my alley and all get 10/10.
