On the one hand if the movies aren't good that is bad on it's face, but perhaps more importantly the brand could be so ruined if that occurs that it takes them quite a while to try any more.
On the other hand, failing yet again at this point, could force a reboot of the franchise and finally get some people in who can establish a collective long term vision like Marvel. The vision doesn't have to be the same as Marvel's, but a vision none the less.

For people like you who can't wait for them to reboot: Yes.
For people like me who actually like these versions of the characters (for the most part): No.
I'm not suggesting the DCEU is anywhere near perfect. But I'm almost hoping that they succeed in 2017.

It might not be a bad thing. I wouldn't mind seeing them wipe the slate clean and start over with a different Justice League movie.

The sheer amount of loops the DCEU is going to have to jump through to give us a proper Superman and proper Batman is ridiculous at this point.

Good, but saying it's not anywhere near perfect really doesn't do it any justice. It's far closer to complete trash.
Listen, I understand having different tastes, but this goes beyond that. It is legit crap. I have no, and I mean zero interest in watching it. It's that bad. That's not me being a troll, that's not me preferring Marvel. It is actually that piss poor of a product, and I don't support lazy writing. Why would you support terrible efforts? You're just encouraging them. I could have seriously written better when I was 10. It's awful.

In your opinion. I disagree. And no one is forcing you to watch anything.

Man of Steel was so bad I had no interest in wasting any more time with it, especially with feedback as terrible as it's getting now. That's not an opinion, it's a fact, and you can't disagree with that. Sorry.

You're just going to have to be okay with the reality that not everyone agrees with you. Sorry.

I don't think it will be a good thing. I mean, it's nice to hope that they will do a reboot, but most likely what will happen is that they'll just scrap any DC movies for the next decade then maybe make another freaking Batman movie later on to test the waters. And holy crap am I so tired of DC just making Batman movies all the time.

Honestly, Warner Bros should have told Nolan to go screw himself when he requested to have "HIS" Batman kept separate from a larger universe when he was first making Batman Begins and then told Bryan Singer "No, we're not making a Replacement sequel for Donner's Superman II. This is going to be a brand new Superman who exists in the same universe as Nolan's Batman because we want a Justice League movie." They'd have beaten Marvel to the game three years in advance and could have had that damn JL film out even before Ironman 2's release if they played their cards rights.

That's actually a pretty good idea. Would have worked great. The TDK trilogy already had a great rep, making Superman join that universe would have allowed him to piggyback on a lot of good word of mouth. From there it would have been easy to add on Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman.

Batman Begins (2005) 2. Superman Origins (2006) 3. The Flash (2007) 4. Aquaman: Throne of Atlantis (2007) 5. Wonder Woman (2008) 6. The Dark Knight (2008) 7. Superman: Insert Subtitle Here (2009) 8. The Green Lantern (2009) 9. Justice League (2010) (Introducing a seventh member for the full line-up. Wanna go with Martian Manhunt, played by Lawrence Fishburne)

The comic fanboy in me hates it when superheroes are watered down (I hate how weak Thor and Hulk are in the MCU) and yet I have to admit that watering them down makes them far more interesting as movie characters.

Don't water them down at all. They're interesting enough as is. Let the first two Dark Knight films be gritty and "realistic" and then just take Bruce through a similar journey as the audience would to accept the more outlandish parts of being a part of a comic book universe. Then just abandon the realistic mold for The Dark Knight Rises.

No
Another reboot would be the stupidest decision they could make unless they decide to stop and wait 10 years.

If you legitimately despise the movies, then sure?
But in general, no.
Honestly do people just not want to fix things anymore? My shirt has a hole, guess it's time for the garbage, I cracked by laptop screen, it's junk now. Come on, pickup a needle and thread, repair your laptop, get better writers.
