Has anyone seen this one? Probably one of the great music movies ever made, full of fun characters, surreal jokes, and great music numbers.

Yeah I've seen this. Pretty good. They rarely play it on cable but occasionally

I actually rented True Stories from a video store a very long time ago, watched it, didn't expect to enjoy but did. It was entertaining, funny, gently satirical and in a way a sort of off the wall feelgood movie. I believe it was also my introduction to both Spalding Gray and John Goodman, neither of whom I knew a thing about. On the basis of their work in the film I made a mental note of their names, and within a relatively short period of time they both became quite well know, Goodman especially.

It's great. The scuttlebutt has always been that it was essentially green-lit as a re-signing bonus for Byrne to make more Talking Heads albums.

Yes. Seen it. It's wonderfully weird. Kinda ahead of its time.

good movie, i like the music that came from it and that it's a time capsule of the 80's.
