GUPTILL smashes 180 not out to take newzealand to a win thereby drawing the 5 match series 2-2, with a game to go.

India batting first. A boundary of the first ball.

Lyon owns Pujara and Kohli. Don't think India will cross 300.

Australia cruising along. I predict an innings defeat.

India can't score anything more than 120 in the second innings so this does appear to be innings defeat at the moment.

well, LYON and O KEEFE are legendary spinners now. LYON has a seriously good record against india now. 12/286 at adelaide. and another 7/94 on the last tour of india.

anywa, will 189 be good enough? the pitch isnt easy to bat on. even ISHANT got an edge off WARNER but RAHANE dropped it.

shit who would have thought indian batsmen would have found it tough to bat against LYON and O KEEFE? a 4-0 defeat at home would be sensational.

is there any good write up about indias three consecutive batting debacles in this series?

Australia coming in well prepared and getting the team selection right straight away.
Rank turners reducing the gap between the spinners in the 2 sides.
Australian seamers/close catching/DRS handling being far better than India.
Indian batting being no longer great against spin (barring Pujara).
Most importantly, Ashwin running on fumes after a looong home season (he pretty much admitted before the series that he was only bowling at 50-60% against NZ/Eng/Ban). If Ashwin had been bowling like he did against SA in 2015, there's no way Australia get 2 scores of 250+ in the 1st Test.

good points, parkdooman.
but ashwin running on fumes? he is a spinner and while it has been a hectic season ..... running on fumes could be an exaggeration.
if australia dont score atleast 400 and bat india out of this match today, they would be very very disappointed. i sense an aussie collapse today. their openers did not look very comfortable yesterday.

some splendid bowling by india in this session. i havent watched a full session of cricket in ages. it was pulsating stuff. ISHANT and UMESH were particularly good. they dismissed both WARNER and SMITH - players capable of making big daddy hundreds. its game on here.
