darkreviewer2013Yeah, i got a fair amount of movies ill re-watch amongst both the more simple/fun movies and more drama variation types. but i would say, off the top of my head, the bulk of the more simple/fun movies i like tend to be more in the 6/10 range, with some 7's. also, ill say that in general i prefer serious movies over comedies even though you can occasionally find a solid comedy but in terms of straight comedies that stand out those tend to be few and far between.
also, most of the movies i see in general are movies i have seen before as while i still see a fair amount of movies i have not seen before the easy majority are re-watches of movies i have seen already. that helps ensure movies as a whole stay strong for me as if i rarely re-watched movies i would lose most of my interest in them simply because i would likely go longer stretches without seeing a movie of any real worth if i was strictly only seeing movies i have not seen before with no re-watches.
in fact, here is my exact statistics without the details in the following years...
2012...
-Total Films = 239 films
-First Viewings = 119 films (49.8%)
-Re-watches = 120 films (50.2%)
-Yearly Average (films per week) = 4.57
2013...
-Total Films = 233 films
-First Viewings = 107 films (45.9%)
-Re-watches = 126 films (54.1%)
-Yearly Average (films per week) = 4.47
2014...
-Total Films = 336 films
-First Viewings = 145 films (43.2%)
-Re-watches = 191 films (56.8%)
-Yearly Average (films per week) = 6.44
2015...
-Total Films = 301 films
-First Viewings = 105 films (34.9%)
-Re-watches = 196 films (65.1%)
-Yearly Average (films per week) = 5.77
2016...
Total Stats...
-Total Films = 274 films
-First Viewings = 89 films (32.5%)
-Re-watches = 185 films (67.5%)
-Yearly Average (films per week) = 5.24
2012-2016 (i.e. a full 5 years of data) combined data...
-Total Films = 1,383 films
-First Viewings = 565 films (40.9%)
-Re-watches = 818 films (59.1%)
so as you can see, when i look at the basic breakdown of 'first viewings' vs 're-watches' over 5 years of data it's basically like saying out of every 10 movies i see nearly 6 of them are re-watches even though more lately (i.e. 2015 and 2016) it's not far from 7 out of 10 are re-watches.
p.s. just to be crystal clear on that whole 'first viewings' / 're-watches' thing... first viewings are simply ANY movie i have not seen before in those times gets marked under that category and ANY movie i have seen before gets marked under the re-watches category. so basically for example... say i see 'Movie A (1984)' for the first time in the year 2016 it will be listed under the 'first viewing' category but then say i seen that same movie later that year the second time would be counted under the 're-watches' category simply because i have already seen the movie before.
-Breaking Bad... is also a 10/10 from me and i actually plan on re-watching it in it's entirety before this year is finished to see if it's magic still remains for me. in fact, it's only one of two TV shows i gave a 10/10 (the other being The Sopranos) as the next closest show (my #3 spot) is a 7.5-8/10. but basically both have high re-watch value for me (or pretty much anything i score a 7 or higher is amongst my favorite movies etc and anything that's a favorite for me must hold up on re-watches) as ill likely be re-watching The Sopranos before this year is finished or no later than next year tops as my most recent re-watch of The Sopranos in it's entirety was June 5th 2013 to Sep 27th 2013. it's going on 4 years as time flies as it don't seem like it's been that long already since i last re-watched it. with Breaking Bad it's not seen a re-watch in it's entirety from start to finish yet even though i have re-watched a fair amount of episodes back around the times it was new etc etc. but if you want my best guess based on gut feeling at the moment about how Breaking Bad will be for me on a re-watch... while it's currently tied with The Sopranos for my #1 TV show i won't be surprised if Breaking Bad slides to my #2 spot on a re-watch behind The Sopranos as even from memory right now i think The Sopranos is a bit more consistent in my interest from episode-to-episode than Breaking Bad is but where Breaking Bad really shines is while it has it's lesser interesting episodes, it's high points were really high as it nailed the tension/suspense about as good as one can get in at least one episode (i.e. last episode of Season 3) and pulling that off is a rare feat for me. but who knows, maybe it will remain tied with The Sopranos. ill find out soon enough
-Casino... is a movie i have re-watched a fair amount over the years to.
-Invictus... on the other hand is one of those movies that's alright enough for a viewing (but it did take a while before my interest got up to a more decent level) but ultimately forgettable for me.
