I usually find it an enjoyable evening with some good food and wine. Yes, its usually predictable but I think its partly habit as I've been watching for so long. I haven't seen very many of the movies this year either so hopefully its still a good time. When I was younger I used to check out almost every awards show, now I couldn't imagine sitting through them all and the Oscars are the only ones I watch. I wish there were a way to watch really old broadcasts of the Academy Awards, that would be fun!

I am. I always look forward to this particular award show out of all the award shows for the year. I've been watching The Oscars ever since I was a kid. Yeah, there have been some good and bad years for the show. Yeah, there have been some good (Billy Crystal) and bad (James Franco and Anne Hathaway) hosts. But still, I just love the celebration of films, the genuine, heartfelt acceptance speeches, and looking at the hot actresses in sexy dresses.

Regarding old telecasts of the Oscars, that is yet another great thing which SHOULD be available, but isn't. Not just clips, but the entire telecasts. I'd love to see the 1950s ones in particular. The fact that they are kinescope recordings is no excuse....kinescopes are extremely easy to digitise, and their picture quality is not as bad as people make it out to be (they can actually be improved greatly with computer software).

Nothing else to watch that day. I'll watch Hollywood jerk each other off.

Oh I agree I would love to see the 50s and earlier if ever possible. I guess there just wouldn't be enough interest for them to be digitized? Would so love that.

I am especially this year for The Host. Kimmel looks very promising, he is one of the best late night hosts and this oscars will be great due to him

Nope. Not if the stars are going to use the show as a political platform.

I usually do, just to see who wins and everyone's reactions. Plus whatever controversy arises is always more fun when you see it happen for yourself.

When I was young I liked to watch all of the awards shows to see what other people liked in film or music. Now as I have gotten older I would rather watch 2 movies to fill the time.

Jimmy Kimmel was a great host for the Emmys last year, so I'm sure he'll be fun to watch hosting the Oscars. With that said, I don't care very much about this year's ceremony. With several of the categories, it's already clear who the winners will be. So, it will be a very predictable ceremony. I intend to skip the parts of the ceremony that do not interest me.

Always plenty of bare upper-body female celebrity skin on view.

I always look forward to the Oscars, although this year - after the worst ceremony possibly of all time last year - I'm also slightly dreading it.

It used to be all about the cleavage. Young people today will scarcely believe there was a time when the most tit you could see on TV were Oscar gowns. True story.
