Spoilers: Good guys get it pretty bad too... One of my biggest pet peeves in television shows or movies, is when an evil character inflicts incredible pain and misery on the protagonists, and then gets a quick death. True, they are gone from the world, but I find it very unsatisfying. A prime example of getting off easy, is Pieter Vorstedt's demise in Lethal Weapon II. Given the monumental misery he inflicted on Martin Riggs, he deserved worse than the quick death he got.
Perhaps I have an "overdeveloped sense of vengeance." However, I've never been disappointed with an evil character's ultimate fate on Game of Thrones.
The 21 punches to Ramsay Bolton's face delivered by Jon Snow were particularly gratifying: ( I didn't realize I had my own hands balled up into fists when I watched that scene. )  Bolton's ultimate end was even better...  Although I think this gal got it the worst...

I always felt Ned Stark got it too easy. The man consciously started a bloody war for a principle and was rewarded by a straight beheading. Joffrey was too merciful. It's often that way with child-kings  |

I want Littlefinger to get what he deserves: the Iron Throne. Screw all that bad guys must be punished crap. It doesn't happen in real life, why does it have to in fiction.

He died painfully enough. It was Arjen Rudd who got off too easy. Wasn't quite satisfied with Walder Frey's demise, myself. Sure, there must have been a sense of absolute horror right before he died that he had eaten his own offspring , but he wasn't given much time to suffer before his fairly quick death. I thought he got off far too easy, too, considering how he relished in torturing others. ...and she didn't deserve it. Sure, she was a mean bitch, but she did nothing to Cersei that Cersei did not fully deserve. That said, I must say Season 6 was disappointing to me for wrapping those things up. For three or four seasons we had been itching to see Ramsay get his come-uppance, and for over two seasons we had waiting for Walder Frey to get his just desserts. And now in Season 6 we get so much satisfaction that it completely breaks stride with the previous seasons. The Red Wedding is avenged, the Boltons are crushed, as are the slave owners and the horselords have all joined under Daenerys. Too many story lines concluded in a short span of time, which has me a bit worried for Season 7. |

Cersei hasn't been punished. She was responsible for her kids dying so that wasn't punishment. A nasty brother banging ho like her enjoyed that little 5 block naked walk with guys showing her their dongs so that wasn't punishment either. Her atrocities continue to pile up so I hope she gets at least a slap on the wrist this season. It's becoming so ridiculous that she gets a free pas it makes the show kind of a joke.

It's not like the books are complex or brilliant prose. What makes the books a story for thinkers? The most detailed part are the descriptions of food and sex. It's a light quick read but it's in no way writing that you need to ponder. |

I freely admit I haven't read the books - but it did strike me that the style was different in season 6. I should point out that I don't like what most TV series are doing, namely churning out season after season until they get cancelled. I prefer mini-series, which have the entire series staked out, including the end, from the very inception. When a series has a goal, it has drive, and when it has drive it is interesting. This is why most series are good for only the first 2-3 seasons, and then lose the spark. Game of Thrones had that goal for the first five seasons, when it still had the books to go by, but season 6 felt like its main motivation was "we can't stop now!" I did enjoy season 6, but was - and remain - apprehensive about the direction it seems to be taking. |
