Was interested to hear the comparisons with other current scifi shows such as Killjoys , Dark Matter and Stranger Things . Watched The Expanse after all the rave reviews by critics and fans online . Yes , I think it is film noir in space , and I like that ! It's very obvious that the Producers have really put out for this Series in expense and production effort !
And I like the introduction of the mystical and romantic scenario's developing , for me it really added to the complex plots of the show . As well as the Expanse also developing it's very own language too , so very happy about all the details of the Expanse universe !
Please , no spoilers about Season 2 , even though they are all over Youtube , but it is good to hear that the 2nd season is as good as the first !

Great show. Can't believe so many people are complaining about it in this thread. We get a big budget space series on SyFt with strong writing and acting and writing at last and people still aren't happy. The books have gone downhill (reading book 6 at the moment and literally NOTHING has happened in the first half of it) so hopefully the show doesn't stay too faithful. I think there is a big difference between those who have read the books and viewers who haven't read them. If you know the story from the books then the TV series isn't very confusing.
But for someone like me who has never read the novels, I had to stick it out in the first season and get to episode 9 before I understood the bigger story in the TV series.
Imo at least, BB ;-)

I can see the first season being confusing. Even as someone who has read the books I got a bit confused by the locations at times. I think season two has had better story-telling.

OK that's good to know. I only watch the series on Amazon streaming so I have to wait for season 2. Imo at least, BB ;-)
