What games do you just find really average, not great but not rubbish either, real 5/10 games
For me,
Battlefield 4 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Syndicate

The latest call of duty franchise is going stale fast shame.... When you start remastering modern warfare to gain sales you know that fishy smell ain't grandmas knickers

idk.. I kind of like Battlefield 4. It's a crappy single player game but it's fun if you like multi-player/online gaming. Battlefield 3 is great for single player gaming though.
Anyhow, I've always thought the GTA games were just average. Sure, the openness of the games are cool but the game is just... well... kind of dull.

A lot of Breakout and Pac-Man clones released on early 1980s home computers like the ZX Spectrum, Commodore Vic-20, ZX81, Oric-1, Jupiter Ace, and others. But I play them anyway.

Bayonetta games have rave reviews yet those games suck beyond belief.

The Call of Duty Black Ops games - The first one had a cool story but the gameplay didn't impress.

Many. The Division...Destiny 2...COD WW2...Just to name a few. Basically any game I’ve enjoyed for about a month but never felt like picking up again after that.

I think the vast majority of games (even including more name level games) are forgettable (i.e. average-ish at best). there are not many games that stand out in general and out of those even fewer that have lasting appeal to where I replay them once in a while. hell, there are not many games worth playing/finishing and even the ones I do finish there are not many that have a lasting appeal/impact on me. p.s. I primarily play shooter types of games (on PC) and a select amount of racing games and maybe an occasional thing outside of that. but it's pretty safe to say shooters have been my all around #1 game genre in the long term with racing games likely my #2 all around. for racing games... Forza series (sim racing game) is king for me (once I played the first one on original XBox in 2005 I could no longer go back to Gran Turismo series on Playstation) and it's nice I don't need a xbox console for Forza 7. in fact, that's about the only reason I somewhat wanted a XBox One but I never bothered with the current gen of consoles as it's simply no longer worth the $$$ for what I get out of them overall. so given that info the last Forza game (of the main Forza series) I played was Forza 4 (2011) on the XBox360 as going from that to Forza 7 (2017) (on PC) was a solid improvement. but I can't believe Forza 7 takes up literally a hair over 104GB of storage space (i.e. around "96.8 GB (104,032,105,273 bytes)"). but basically after the XBox360 generation... I pretty much dumped consoles completely. but I always liked the PC in general more than consoles especially given most games I play are shooters and I think the mouse is far superior to the analog stick in terms of tracking stuff on screen quickly and accurately as it's a large enough gap to where I enjoy shooters on a PC but not at all on a console because a console handicaps me quite a bit. like I simply can't enjoy a shooter on a console. but with that said, I did play Red Dead Redemption (etc) on the XBox360 which is a shooter but only reason I could play that was because it has lock-on feature which takes makes aiming largely automatic and then you can fine tune the aiming a bit once locked on. still, I generally don't like the lock-on stuff because it takes away most of the fun that way. yougotastewgoinbabyExactly. shooter games in general work best with mouse+keyboard as it's simply easier to use a mouse to track something on screen (takes less time to get on target) than it is a console controllers analog stick. basically I can't play shooters on consoles simply because I am not up to a certain standard (basically I can't aim at stuff fast/accurately enough to make the game enjoyable) where as with a PC I can play and enjoy them as I am up to a decent standard there. Harry SkywalkerWhile I won't comment specifically on that game... I can make a general comment in that it seems there are plenty of games that get overpraised reviews that are nothing special. stickman38While I disagree that the GTA games are average, as they are better than most games in my mind for sure(which makes them above average in my mind), I do feel they are definitely overrated as GTA 5 sold a boatload of copies (it's in the very elite games in terms of total sales) but does not have a lasting impact on me that the Mafia series does as the Mafia series is just more fun to play through the single player and the characters are more interesting etc etc. all of the side goofing off stuff some people seem to like doing in the GTA series, that gets old quickly. Mafia (2002) (on PC) is one of the rare games I classify as a masterpiece which is a word I rarely use in reference to games or movies. Mafia II (2010) (on PC), while not as great as the first game, is still one of the very top games I played. Mafia III is definitely underrated (although it's the overall worse of the Mafia series so far) as I like the overall characters/mood/shooting etc in that over GTA5. basically just has more lasting impact on me where as GTA 5 I finished it once but have no desire to ever replay it. but with that said... I know there are a fair amount of people who praise Mafia (2002) (on PC) as one of their all-time favorites. in fact, if I have to name only one game as my all time #1 single player gaming experience it's definitely Mafia (2002) (on PC) (even just the feeling that game gives me on the ending alone is a rare feat for games as that competes with higher quality movies). in fact, I plan on replaying that and Mafia II (2010) (on PC) within the next year or so. deeznutzHell, that's another series I think is very overrated as the reviewers etc always seem to overpraise them (based on commercials for them every year or so) but that series lost it's appeal ages ago for me.
