Except for the moustache....no. And the hairpiece oops I mean haircut and the general look of the character. He's a Scottish Burt Reynolds clone.

They used to show this on Fox Movie Channel all the time. Never really liked it but I can't say I was bored with whatever segment was on.

It's visually striking and certainly unconventional, so I give it points for being unique. I just find it a little boring.

True......guilty pleasure......sure, it's not Dr. Zhivago or Gone With the Wind, but I've seen a lot worse in my lifetime. I'd still give it a 7/10 in my books..

Sean Connery in a red bikini. No, can't get "Zardoz" confused with too many other films. And when I started watching it I thought the title was chosen just because it sounded futuristic and godlike for the 1970's.

The WiZard of Oz.
As in:
Look behind the curtains, and don't believe everything you see and hear.

Yes. As everyone who has seen the film knows...but this really falls under the category of "spoilers"...

Most people will have worked that out right at the beginning.
It's not the 'Who', but the 'Why' that's the point of the film!

That reveal is the "why" of the film. Zed figures out the mystery behind Zardoz and the stone head.

No, the reveal about "why" is not at the beginning. It is Zed realizing the parallels to the book, "The Wizard of Oz" as shown by emphasizing some letters and not others.
