Was getting into some lively discussions on the TZ IMDb board. Wanna see if we can start them here.
Feel free to post anything TZ related. Who will dare to go there first?

I used to watch the Twilight Zone every day ... I was badly hooked on it. One of the best shows of all time 10/10 Yup. Right now it airs every night on MeTV which I make sure to watch every night and on most nights, it's the only thing I watch all day.

One of the things I love about it, among many, is how each episode uses different actors, characters and story lines.
It's not like, say, Newhart, or Mary Tyler Moore etc. where we have the same characters only a different situation for every show. I just love how unique it is in that regard.

I can understand why The Twilight Zone is so revered, and there are some justifiably great and famous episodes. But it just doesn't have that "spark" for me, not like the Outer Limits did. Maybe it's because the major theme behind TZ is "irony," that you "just might get what you wished for," or "you work all your life to save money, and poof, there's a nuclear war, and everything is free" kind of thing. When they went to an hour format, I thought I'd like that one better, but I didn't. Not sure why, because Rod Serling is just an amazing writer.

As a kid, I didn't notice the problems in Serling's writing which I noticed as an adult. It was always spooky and fascinating. Then it seemed to have gotten old and uninteresting. Now, however, I love to watch the show again. Recently there was a TZ marathon and I watched it for days, literally. I think after all it holds much good nostalgia for me.

I love this show. If I had to pick a favorite tv show of all time, I would probably be inclined to pick this one. TZ had so many fascinating episodes. With that being said, I can admit that some of the episodes are either downright boring or simply appear very dated.

I'm not sure why except maybe the episode is so claustrophobic with no action and no sets. Actually, I suppose it was innovative in these ways.

"Five Characters in Search of an Exit" I think it's called? The one with a clown and other people, that they turn out to be just dolls in a can.

Yes, that one. It's always seemed tedious to me.

Eye of the Beholder has a socko "reveal" upon first viewing, but if you watch it a second time, you can tell something weird is going to happen. And the actress playing the bandaged woman is probably the most theatrical person I've ever seen on episodic tv--all this hand-wringing and moving her hands this way and that way. It's as if she's acting for the deaf! And frankly, it's a little disconcerting to see she's really Ellie Mae Clampett under all those bandages!

I've been watching TZ like never before so I am watching tons of episodes for the first time. You're right that there are those that are a happy ending, sorta. But then there are also those where it isn't. I think more times that not, it is a tragic or sad ending for the character or the show.

One of my favorites. It spoke to something in the human psyche that knows there is something beyond this 3rd dimension. It also showcased the uglier side of human nature.

One of my favorite series of all time. I've seen each episode multiple times. I wish there were entire lost seasons yet to be discovered.

I liked the sadder, more sentimental episodes...like the one starring Gig Young, where he ended up mysteriously going back in time to his childhood days and town. Can't recall the name, but that was a familiar theme for Serling, who obviously have an affection for his boyhood.
What gets me now is how "old" the main characters are! In this case, I believe Young's character was 36, certainly not "old" by today's standards. I can understand being disillusioned at 50, but 36? Most 36 year olds I know still act like teenagers!
