Got to be my favourite season. Tom and Mary were just perfect together. Pirate Planet amazing, no real duffers, even liked Kroll and Armageddon Factor.

My personal favourite serial from that season is THE STONES OF BLOOD.
The Ogri gave me the willies back when I first saw them - and they still do now.

I've always loved the arc of the season, in a way that I don't necessarily with other season arcs, even if - or perhaps even because - certain stories like Androids of Tara deal with it in an entirely derisory fashion, and resolve it in the first two minutes just to get it out of the way.
Androids of Tara is nevertheless possibly my favourite of the season, summery and flamboyant, and a wonderful counterpoint to the cold snow of Ribos. Pirate Planet contains Tom's seminal 'But what's it for??', and Stones of Blood is cracking before it all gets very silly at the end. Sadly it all falls away a bit with the last two stories, but yeah, a season which is somehow more than the sum of its parts.

Always liked that "season". Love Mary Tamm as Romana. She is much better than Lalla was in my opinion. I know that many a Doctor Who fan is the opposite and prefers Lalla as Romana II over Mary as Romana I. As a big Douglas Adams fan I am partial to The Pirate Planet. I guess then The Ribos Operation and The Armageddon Factor and The Androids of Terra. Not big on the Stones of Blood or Power of Kroll. Stones of blood I felt dragged too much in parts and was uninteresting. Power of Kroll I think was a combination being disappointed by the special effects (Yes yes they were OK for television effects at the time, although a little behind the times even then) and the swamp people. They come across as being stupid in addition to being primitive.

I'm glad the state PBS network decided to run this again.
