Hip, Hip Hooray, an international movie forum! Thx Admin As the user reviews of Toni Erdmann (Germany, 2016) www.imdb.com/title/tt4048272/reviews?filter=chronohad been very diverse (mostly "masterwork" or "boring", rarely inbetween) and professional critics had been more towards "masterwork" What have been Your impressions of this movie? Mine were: I think it's a masterwork that would have been more applauded at if the critics would not have praised it as comedy. In its heart it is a drama, that has some very funny moments.

If there is one thing I can't stand in fiction it is for characters to behave in ways that defy all logic, and Toni Erdmann is full of that - both the father and the daughter keep doing things that make zero sense.

I've not seen this film but I remember seeing clips when it was nominated at the Academy Awards. I'll see if I can get hold of a copy, thanks.
