Deep Impact (1998) because...Morgan Freeman!
I know they're both considered cheesy popcorn flicks but, Deep Impact will always be more memorable. You hardly see Téa Leoni in any movies nowadays, and I had a bit of a crush on a younger Leelee Sobieski back then.
Armageddon (1998) had a great ensemble, but Liv Tyler was somewhat annoying throughout the entire movie.

Armageddon was a fun movie, but I prefer a more serious slant to disaster films. I vote Deep Impact. I preferred its tone.

I would say Deep Impact is the better movie. Armageddon is too cheesy. One of the dumbest love scenes in cinema history, with animal crackers.

Deep Impact is a better film with a better ending IMHO.
Armageddon is a more enjoyable repeat viewing (guilty pleasure).
So in a nutshell, I'd rate "Deep Impact" higher because it's a better quality film with more depth, character development, stronger characters, and a more impactful ending. The astronauts actually sacrificing their lives to save humanity.
Armageddon is funnier, more memorable lines, more memorable characters, but the problem is the characters don't feel like real people, they feel like stereotypical satires of people. It has ZERO character development, a terrible plot full of holes, and the ending is too cliche.
