Are there any graphic novels for this character? If there are no graphic novels then comics.
Can anyone recommend a few that covers his origin and a story or two?

Which version of Lobo are we talking about? He has changed so much over the years. I like the Simon Bisley ones from the early 90s, which include The Last Czarnian(Lobo's origin story as told by his grandma-ish former schoolteacher), Lobo's Back's Back (Lobo dies but neither Heaven or Hell want him) and Lobo's Paramilitary Christmas Special (Easter Bunny hires Lobo to kill Santa)
Alan Grant did few good ones too. Bounty Hunting for Fun and Profit has Lobo trying to make a a successful bounty hunter out of a clueless comic book nerd while Lobo/Judge Dredd: Psycho Bikers vs. the Mutants from Hell co-written by John Wagner is a decent team-up.

His 1st appearance is Omega Men #3 then he guest stars in lots of separate things (Justice League, R.e.b.e.l.s.) before starting to get several of his own mini-series. Never gets his own ongoing series. Then he disappears. Then New 52 brought him back but fucked him up. But now he's back to form on the roster of Justice League of America Rebirth.
And I'm hard pressed to remember an actual origin story told in any one comic. The Last Czarnian maybe?
Best bet is to go to your local comic shop and see what they have.
