"Use unnecessary force, if necessary!"Once again the infamous Cannonball Run and its participants is more than ready to take off, and so is the Police Chief Spiro T. Edsel (Peter Boyle) and his loyal army of followers who will do whatever it takes to stop the race from happening.Speed Zone, aka Cannonball Fever aka Cannonball Run 3. I got this VHS from my uncle, titled Speed Zone on the cover, then when I popped it in, it read Cannonball Fever, then later on I found a Scandinavian DVD titled, Cannonball Run 3, which I guess was a desperate attempt of trying to cash in on the success of the original films. However, I love Speed Zone or whatever it goes by, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that I am not a fan of Burt Reynolds, and while the two Cannonball Run films is ok, I will probably never watch them again in my life, well, maybe the first one, but that is all thanks to Adrianne Barbeau. The reason why I enjoy Speed Zone more is because I find the main characters much more likeable, and of course it comes with the stunning Donna Dixon, plus Peter Boyle as the crazy Police Chief who is quite the nutcase, plus so many idiotic situations that I guess might be too "lowbrow" for most people, but I like it. Specially the scene on the airplane, where some creepy french tourist keeps askin the man who sits next to him: "You would like my peanuts?". Then you have John Candy as the anti-hero who gets to ride along with incredible hot Donna Dixon, who plays the bimbo part very well. Joe Flaherty and his comedic sidekick played by Matt Frewer is a riot, especially when they end up crushing the wrong car, and finds out it belongs to Michael Spinks and not one of the competing racers. The action/stunt scenes I thought was really good, and I liked how most of the film/race took place in less than sunny locations.

I decided to go with it, as the one for Cannonball Run 3 or Speed Zone was, well not as cool looking. One gotta give some credit to Charlie (John Candy) for being such a reliable and solid driver while crossing most of America driving in a very ordinary car, with a not so ordinary passenger, making the trip a bit harder to stay focused on the road.
