Kubrick transcended the medium, so he's my choice. In what ways do you believe he did this? I agree he was an incredible, one-of-a-kind talent, but could you say more about that? Just wondering what you mean specifically since I've been on a weird Kubrick kick lately and haven't really discussed it with anyone. He did what he wanted, whenever he wanted, & delivered great films. He didn't pander to box office expectations or critical acclaim. He just did it.
