Just gave this a re watch and I'll kindly give it a YAY. Some cheesy/stupid moments in it ("talk to the hand") but overall I dug the fact it was basically one giant chase scene. Make no mistake, this is a step down from Cameron's Terminator films but still enjoyable . 7.5/10
(on a side note) the timeline for this franchise is all sorts of fucked up . Just how old was John Connor supposed to be in this one? I've read anywhere from 19 to early 20s to 24 yrs old. I'm leaning towards early 20s .

Schwarzenegger campagein money to make him governer, he needed a hit.
Not a bad action movie in itself, one of the few third chapters that ain't bad.
Still leaves a bad taste, since profift wen't to Swarzenegger campaign.

It's not bad per se, it's just very average. Arnold looks too old, he isn't cool in the movie, Stahl is poorly cast as John Connor, the cinematography isn't good and it has moments that reach self parody which I hate and the villain is just a rehash of T-1000 but lame. It is also redundant.
I will give the movie credit for the ending though and it almost saves the movie...almost.

I don't know why they didn't just being Eddie Furlong back, they made John a strung out junkie anyway. Claire Danes is no Linda Hamilton. The ending craps on T2.
So yeah, nay. Can't decide which is the worst of the non-Cameron sequels. They're all lame in their own unique ways.

in short... YAY.
It's quite underrated as it's my 2nd favorite of the entire series behind T1...
1.T1 - 8.5-9/10 (within my Top 27 movies)
2.T3 - 8/10 (within my Top 59 movies)
3.T5 - 6-6.5/10 (within my Top 246 movies)
4.T2 - 6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up) (was a 10/10 at one point but i simply don't enjoy watching it to any high degree anymore as of a July 3rd 2016 re-watch)
5.T4 - 5/10 (Thumbs Down)

I didn't like it when it first came out. The story was just a shameless rehash of T2, Arnold's character had been reduced to a clown, Nick Stahl was terrible, Claire Danes screamed too much. It would have been great if they could have gone with their original plan of turning Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) into an evil Terminator.
But after seeing the movies that followed it, I have come to appreciate it a wee bit.
