There are several films that have never been released to DVD. Some haven't even been issued to VHS! Just off the top of my head, the list includes:
1. Ivy (1947) starring Joan Fontaine.
2. I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957), starring Michael Landon
3. The Amazing Colossal Man, starring Glenn Langdon
4. A Double Life (1947), starring Ronald Colman (Best Actor Oscar winner)
5. Strangers: the Story of a Mother and Daughter (1979), starring Bette Davis and Gena Rowlands
Any more?

The 1968 Of Mice and Men has never been issued on any format. Curse of the Fly did not appear on a home video format until 2007.

Was the 1968 Of Mice and Men a TV production?

Truman Capote's sublime "A Christmas Memory," starring Geraldine Page in an Emmy-awarded performance, has never been issued to home video or DVD.
Neither has the sequel, "The Thanksgiving Visitor." A real shame, since both movies are beautifully done and very nostalgic.

I don't think the 'Star Wars Holiday Special' has ever had an official release.

I think Lionsgate released it.

I've only seen that film once, and it was quite a while ago.

If I'm not mistaken the Harry Belafonte classic, The World, the Flesh and the Devil has never gotten a release in any format except DVD-R on demand from Warners. That movie was more of the basis for the 2007 I Am Legend than the novella was.

Another film with no DVD release is "Phantom of the Rue Morgue," a 3D horror from Warner Brothers back in the early 50s. Karl Marlden was the star. Warners hasn't even released it through their archives!

The one movie I desperately want to see is a violent action flick from 1977 called The Farmer. This movie has never seen the light of day on any home video format. It was supposed to get a DVD release about 10 years ago from Scorpion Releasing, but it appears it has been postponed indefinitely, mostly likely due to unresolved issues with the rights.
However, I'm still hopeful I'll get to see The Farmer in my lifetime. Perhaps some other video label will pick it up (Shout! Factory, I'm looking in your direction).

Funny you should mention the balloon drop, because when I saw this as a child--and it was in 3D (probably around 1959, on a re-release), that scene is the one that "popped."

Yes, actually one of the best 3D scenes I have ever encountered. Doesn't it happen in a dance hall, after a show of the can-can?

I'd love to see "Lady Beware" and "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud" released.
