Excellent movie. Just watched that one last night. Even though I'm not a big fan of Kate Hudson, I end up liking the moves she's in

I think I first saw this on a flight one time. I always enjoyed this movie. I think the main reason it works is because of Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson. If they hadn’t had the right ‘chemistry’/hadn’t ‘clicked’, then it really wouldn’t have worked as well (although I haven’t seen Fool’s Gold, which they re-teamed for and was apparently not very good, so I guess it all depends). Having said that, I thought all the other characters worked well too. No one really stood out to me as not fitting (Ben’s friends were quite funny with their deadpan reactions to his going crazy over how Andie started acting once they were in a ‘relationship’).
I also liked how the movie explained why this guy who had to make a woman fall in love with him just so happened to pick a woman who had to drive a man a way (‘Lips & Hips’ knew what the deal was with Andie and picked her for Ben on purpose). Many other movies of this type would just have it be ‘coincidence’ that he picked her.
There’s many funny moments throughout the movie. There’s too many to mention all of them, and I've probably forgotten a bunch, but ones I can recall which stand out (in no particular order)...
Fave Andie moments:
When Ben’s checking his answering machine and Andie's messages get increasingly shorter but all the more ‘scary’ because of just how obsessed she’s coming off (I think at one point her message is just her creepy giggle).
The Princess Sophia/Krull the Warrior King scene.
“It’s MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”.
Everything with the “love fern”. All the stuff in this scene was great...
I particularly love her miming putting the cigar out and "Our love fern!...You let it die!".
Fave Ben moments:
His reaction after walking out of the Celine Dion concert.
When Ben’s friends are urging him to resort to couples therapy (after he’s almost driven Andie away), and the way McConaughey says the words “couples…therapy” like Ben's struggling to get the words out/like he might choke on them.
I just loved how absolutely scarily obsessed Andie acted once it became time to drive Ben away. Kate Hudson was very amusing; as was Matthew McConaughey playing Ben’s exasperation/going-out-of-his-mind over the way Andie was acting.
These types of movies often seem to feature a scene where the characters sing. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but I thought the one in this movie worked well enough (plus it was amusing).
I think when the ‘fight’ came between them, they both made good points. And, yes, the ending was to be expected...but I still liked it. This is one of my favourites of the rom-com genre and I would always try to watch it whenever it was on TV. I just find it fun/enjoyable and the actors/characters likeable (which isn’t always the case in these types of movies).

yeah she played the role really well I thought. Mathew McConaughey is just great. They definitely did have chemistry . But his friends were hilarious. Especially that part where they're all screaming "Couple's Therapy Couple's Therapy!" It had a lot of great moments. She played a great psycho.
