This line from the 3rd ep of the recent season "Thin Ice" got me thinking: has the Doctor met Jesus, and would this be something the show would ever do, travel back to the time of the bible and feature Jesus?

When the show first started (I mean in 1963) possibly. The early church was shown in a sympathetic light in The Romans. These days with secular humanists running it, they would only do it if they could show Jesus in a homosexual relationship with John the Baptist trying to help Mary Magdalene transition to being a man so her lesbian relationship with Mary would be more appropriate for the time.

The Doctor claimed to have taken the last room at the inn in one of Tennant Xmas specials. Voyage of the Damned, I think.

Bingo! IF they ever did an episode where the Doctor traveled back to 30 A.D. Judea and met Jesus, that's EXACTLY the kind of garbage Moffat would write (except he'd also probably find a way to include River Song or the "Paternoster Gang" in the story) Even Russell T. Davies is probably embarrassed by how much Moffat shamelessly panders to the SJWs. I can imagine him going "Geesh, Moffat, being a gay man myself, I loved to pepper Doctor Who with gay references, but the over-the-top tripe you write these days really takes the cake!"

He met Robin Hood so he might as well meet another fictional character.

Jesus was a real person, the Jesus depicted in the Bible is probably very different from the Jesus that actually lived 2000 years ago, but there was a real Jesus of Nazareth

He met Robin Hood so he might as well meet another fictional character. There are a good deal of evidence that suggest that Jesus did actually exist. There is enough historical reference to Jesus thaT you can make the leap and say with little reasonable doubt that Jesus lived and died. Jesus is not only mentioned by christian writers he is also mentioned by Jewish and Roman writers. That is all i am going to say about this.
