I liked Nellie Oleson as a "bete-noir" far more than her successor. At least, Nellie matured into a compassionate woman, while Nancy remained a spoiled brat throughout the series.

Do you thin Charles stayed faithful to Caroline?

I always wondered about their retarded daughter, the one who keeps falling down that hill. Just what is her issue?

I used to watch that with my mom growing up. I shed many a tear watching that damned tv show. Nellie Olson may have been my first sexual fantasy as a child.

Plot of Little House on the Prairie, interchangeable with almost every early episode:
Laura is picked on by Nellie and Willie. She runs away.
Laura embarrasses herself at school and in front of Miss Beedle. She runs away.
Laura has a disagreement with Mary on the way to school. She runs away.
Laura doesn't like the new dog because she loved Jack so much. She runs away.
Mrs. Olson is snooty to Laura, and Laura runs away.
Charles finds Laura with fake tears on her cheeks. He hugs her.
Charles finds Laura with fake tears on her cheeks, and she tells him about Nellie, about Mary, about Mrs. Olson, about Miss Beedle.
Charles slaps Laura silly and tells her to grow a pair (episode shown only once and not in any syndication package).

I think that it is a good show. It has good values. The show had a lot of funny moments. It also found the show to be a little bit over the top at times. I found it annoying how Charles was a know it all a lot of times on the show. He was always get involved in other peoples business and trying to solve their problems for them. He thought that he knew everything. He got into a lot of fights when he didn't agree with something someone said and he usually broke his ribs when he got into fights. He broke his ribs way too many times on the show. I also found it annoying how he kept promising that he would pay his bills at the mercantile on time and he usually kept asking for more credit. He only paid his bills at the mercantile a few times on the show. He was always broke. I don't blame Harriet for getting upset at Charles for rarely paying his bill at the mercantile and for asking for more credit. She had a business to run. Charles should have been grateful that Harriet was willing to keep giving him more credit. She needed all of her customers to pay their bills at the mercantile so that she could afford to keep buying supplies for the mercantile. I also find it silly how this show always tries to make Charles look good and Harriet look bad. Harriet was a snob and rude at times, but I didn't think that she was that bad. She was nicer than Charles at times. I think Harriet was usually grumpy because a lot of farmers didn't pay their bills at the mercantile. Charles was broke most of the time because he rarely had a good crop. He must not have been a very good farmer. He should have found a different career at something that he was good at so that he and his family wouldn't always be broke. He also worked at the lumber mill and Caroline later worked at Nellie's Restaurant and they were still broke. It was also silly how most of the guys on the show have 1970s haircuts since the show is set in the 1870s and 1880s. I also didn't like how Charles and Caroline let Albert live with them and James and Cassandra later on. They didn't need anymore kids. They could barely afford to take care of the kids that they had. I also thought that the show had way too many tragedies. Some of the tragedies on the show were a little too over the top. I like how Harriet brought a lot of comic relief to the show.

I enjoyed season 1-4. And season 5 was ok but as the seasons goes on i think the show becomes harder and harder to watch.

Are you guys aware that practically all of the threads from the little house IMDB board made it over to MovieChat.org? So you can post there as well. www.moviechat.org/movies/tt0071007

I loved Little House until it started to deviate significantly from the books by having Mary get married and have a baby, who was killed in a house fire not two episodes later. In reality, back then, blind people simply didn't get married and have families. Mary Ingalls lived the rest of her life with her parents and never had kids or any of that. It really became unwatchable to me when the Ingalls adopted that godawful Albert. This character was completely made up and unnecessary. I get that Laura and her sisters were grown by now, but why not just concentrate on Laura, Almanzo and their family?

I bookmarked the Little House On The Prairie MovieChat Message Board page the day that they closed the IMDB Message Boards. It is good that they copied some of the IMDB posts for different Tv shows and movies on MovieChat. It is too bad that the MovieChat Message Boards are not very active. I hope that more people will post on them in the future. I have not registered on MovieChat. I will keep it bookmarked. I may register and start posting on the Little House On The Prairie Message Board on MovieChat sometime if more people start posting there.

I always loved this showed too. My biggest complaint is Nancy. She was crazy! Nellie was more realistic as a spoiled brat bully. I loved seeing her character grow and mature.
