Anybody heard of this iconic personality? As a kid, I watched Johar Mehmood in Hong Kong on Doordarshan and I was floored by the concept of a comedian driving the film narrative. And the humor was totally different from the traditional Hindi humor where the sidekick operated within the constraints of the main story. I guess the humor was sort of Pythonesque - irreverent and absurd. Do you know that Kishore da directed a film titled Badhti ka Naam Daadhi? Here is Johar saab playing a Parsi and moping in existential crisis:

Yep. I checked her out. Her voice is a bit grating. Anyway, I tend to avoid Punjabis unless they are exceptionally talented like Johar saab.

I remember seeing him in a few films. He was hilarious in "Johnny Mera Naam". He also did a good job in "Lawrence of Arabia".

misstique Wow, he's in Lawrence of Arabia? That's news to me. Don't remember at all. May give it a re-watch sometime.
