I am American, but I love those movies. Hot Fuzz is hilarious and Sean of the Dead is a Classic. However, I still choose This is the End. I was very surprised by how well done it was.

I find it interesting that The World's End has more votes but has more negative posts. The votes are correct, Edgar Wright's level of brilliance beats that hack Seth Rogan any day of the week.

Well it looks like the final results are in for that 2 week or so poll which is... This is the End (2013) - 10 votes (28.57%) The World's End (2013) - 19 votes (54.29%) Too close to call - 6 votes (17.14%) so basically it's nearly 2 to 1 in favor of The World's End and it grabbed the majority of votes in general as you can obviously see. but it makes me wonder where the other remaining 5 votes(i know there is 6 votes there but one of those is mine) amongst the 'too close to call' option would have voted had they been forced to choose between the two movies? TutuAnimationPrincessto speculate some on that... i would not be surprised in that certain people who find This is the End appealing, but think The World's End sucks, only like more of that more vulgar type of comedy which i have a feeling the bulk of the appeal here is more of the younger audiences where as The World's End i suspect probably has a bit more broad appeal with a wider range of age groups. so in other words... i am speculating that those who left a clear negative view of The World's End but liked This is the End, are probably the younger people more often than not since i suspect that's where a decent portion of that more vulgar comedy appeals to. but obviously this is nothing absolute but i would not be surprised if that some effect on what you wondered about here. anyone else have any comments or speculation on this particular question? for the record... i am not dissing younger people or anything here as it's just my best guess is all and we are all quite young at some point  p.s. but like i mentioned in my initial post... for me it's 'Too close to call' as i like both about equally (both are within my Top 243 movies). although if pressed i would probably side with The World's End if i could only choose one. |
