Not sure what to make out of it. I mean, the story is plausible and could be classified as unusual but there seems to be a great lack of official documentation about it. Also, the only mystery about it is the ending or fate of the person, not the other parts/events by themselves. The man was said to speak french. Could it be that they didn't understand his accent (while speaking english, japanese, or whatever) or got confused by it like this person says : www.quora.com/What-is-the-explanation-for-the-Taured-mystery (maybe not a solid source, but a plausible explanation) Also, on new maps you see a note like AND or Andorra with a line or arrow pointing to the location: www.mapsofworld.com/world-map-image.htmlBut on old maps of the 1950's it's just Spain and France, Andorra isn't showed: and www.timekeeperwatches.com/world-map-1950-176849-00-23-05Depending on the source, there are more or less details about the hotel and the rest but still no cold hard documentation. Some links just go around in circle.

Does anyone here know anything about German schlosses, by any chance? Odd question, I know, but I read a book of unsolved mysteries, and in it was the story of Lauenstein Castle in Bavaria, which involved a Katharina von Olamünde, who was—if I'm remembering correctly—a serial murderess. Unfortunately, I can't remember anything more about the case and, though I'm able to find Lauenstein Castle easily enough, I can't find Katharina. I'll try to see if the library still has the book. Found the book—photographer Simon Marsden's The Journal of a Ghosthunter ('94). Very good book if you can get your hands on it. Story goes that Katharina von Orlamünde murdered her two small children so that she'd be more attractive to Albrecht von Nürnberg, with whom she was besotted but her feelings unreciprocated. It's a superb story, but my problem is that I can't seem to find any evidence for it besides this recounting of the tale in this book.

are we running out of mysteries?.

hi224I should hope not. If you're interested in working out a psychological puzzle, riddle me this, Batman: I asked in the Books thread (and on LibraryThing's "Name That Book" and AbeBooks' "BookSleuth") for help with finding an alternate-history book that apparently does not exist. Did I dream it or something? In those insuppressible words of discussing dreams: it all seemed so vivid, I was sure I read it some time. I'm actually quite annoyed about this...

The Longyou Grotto Caves When were these created? Some people have suggested that they may be up to 15,000 years old... With some Chinese scholars proposing that they date back to one of China's first emperors, Huangdi, who " decended from the sky in nothing else but a fiery dragon." Why were these created? Unknown Who created them? Unknown... but, Chinese officials have calculated, that an endeavor of this magnitude, would take a minimum of 1,000 men working day and night, for at least SIX years, just to dig out the caves. It would still take longer to do the fine detail work. And most importantlty... Since these look like they were created using modern machines... HOW... were these created? Curved lines made by pick axes, straight lines by chisels and/or frig saws. I've studied Romano-British underground quarrying at Box freestone quarry caves, and Beer Stone quarry caves, in the UK. Hope that clears that non-mystery up for you👍

I recently heard that scientists, now think it was a random signal from Earth, that was briefly received by the radio receivers... Perhaps by a passing plane or a space vehicle. Maybe, Maybe Not... The part that pisses me off, are the skeptics arguing against it being an alien signal, who argue that " we should have picked up the signal... again..." The universe is billions of years old, and it is probably more likely, that if there were any aliens signals out there, their signals probably arrived in our solar system centuries ago, or won't arrive for centuries to come... Realistically, the possibility that we just happened to be listening, at the exact moment that we should have been listening for a signal from some alien in his basement, just randomly turning on his ham radio, and sending out a quick greeting, is nearly impossible. (You would having better luck at winning the lottery this week.) And that is assuming, that we both were using the same type of equipment, both tuned to the same frequency, and our planets were facing each other (Line Of Sight.) ( Radio... LOL!... How do we know the Aliens have anything like Radio Technology at their disposal? That's just another "Assumption" made by scientists, who think they know it all...) Am I saying that the "WOW! Signal" was NOT from Aliens... NO... But if it was an Alien Signal, we got damn lucky in receiving it the first time. We should NOT expect to receive it again... Unless it was a continuous signal, but we have no clue when their planet will be pointed towards us again. Maybe that will be next year sometime. As far as I know, radio signals can't travel faster than the speed of light, and with the nearest star system being 4.2 Lightyears away. For us to have a conversation, with anyone, there, it would take at least 8.4 years just to get a response (Reply), back. The Signal appears to have come from the constellation of "Sagittarius" : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagittarius_(constellation)It mentions one of the stars is 85 light years away... If we had sent an intentional reply, back in 1977... Then we can't expect a reply back from our message until 2147... We'll probably ALL be dead by then. The idea of communication signals with Aliens IS very Interesting... But, don't get your hopes up.

The Kokomo Sonic Boom "UFOs & Sonic Boom" Kokomo, Indiana April 16, 2008 Approximately 10:15 PM Citizens all over the Kokomo area, experienced a mystery explosion, that shook homes, and even caused some minor damages to them... Could it still have been an F-16? So, if it wasn't an F-16, and if it wasn't a crashed man-made object... What created the explosion? Was it a meteor? or was it...something else? FYI: I worked as a Dispatcher for an Emergency Response Agency in the Indianapolis area, at the time, and I was on duty that night. I can confirm the reports of the "boom", and the concerns about a "plane" crash... and I too, was told was that there were no known aircraft (including military) in the area at the time. I have wondered about this event, since that night... And I have yet to learn of any satisfactory explanation, to explain everything... I do NOT believe it was an F-16... Meteor? Perhaps... But, that doesn't seem to be what people reported seeing in the sky that night... (And you would not see a meteor in the sky, after impact)

But, that doesn't seem to be what people reported seeing in the sky that night... (And you would not see a meteor in the sky, after impact) Could have been the Autobots or the Decepticons ? In all seriousness, the F-16 could still explain it. I know from first hand experience that rules and laws aren't always followed. When I was 10 or 12 (can't remember exactly) my uncle who is a big aviation fan invited me to see the airplanes show and exposition in Mirabel. We could see and sit in the cockpit of many aircrafts, even some military. In the afternoon there was a show by the Blue Angels, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Angels, (I know those are F-18, not 16). Still during the show they do some maneuvers in group and others in subgroups. They do most of their stuff in front of you but to get in position they also have to make long turns. At some point, they break formation and each does something different so you kinda lose track of who is where but you keep your attention on what's in front of you since they have to make those long turns. So one pilot decided he would have a surprise for the crowd. I vividly remember how it happened. Like I said, I kinda lost track of who was turning where so one guy decided to make a long turn and come back to the "stage" by flying over the crowd from behind and actually have his sonic boom hit at that moment. That was kind of a dick move and I'm also pretty sure it's not legal nor by the rules to make it happen right above the crowd, not in front, not on the side but right on top of it. People were enjoying the show up to that point but that move raised some questions and pissed off some people including my uncle. On a different note about rules being broken, I used to watch Mayday ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayday_(Canadian_TV_series)) and they brought the United Airlines Flight 736 story ( www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=United%20Airlines%20Flight%20736&item_type=topic). They brought up some of the witnesses account and some claimed that the F-100 Super Sabre was doing some kind of aerobatics maneuvers (which are forbidden with jet fighters) moments prior to the impact, so on top of not knowing the existence of each other, the military aircraft was also coming out of an illegal maneuver that left him little time to react compared to flying straight towards the DC-7 for a while. Since there were no survivors we will never know all the details and everybody's version. Those are 2 examples of situations where officials will say the rules strictly forbid doing "X" or "Y" as a defense to avoid trouble. So it's not impossible that an F-16 pilot messed up or had issues with his plane and lost some parts before crashing. I mean, your links and the UFO chasers clip do say that no wreckage was found but then why was the road closed? No regular cop seemed to have found anything but the road was closed, so somebody found something and closed it. My explanation might not be bulletproof but while it may be unusual it may not be impossible. As for the meteor, it would seem unlikely, even more than the F-16 that could have dropped flares at the last second. I mean, the meteor is just falling and disintegrate, so unless the impact sends part flying high in the sky, it's not that. The other possibility is still that it could be related to aliens, but since we have very little solid knowledge on them, the exact answer lies somewhere in a sea of possibilities.

In all seriousness, the F-16 could still explain it. I know from first hand experience that rules and laws aren't always followed. Yeah, I suppose it was possible that an F-16 was flying just a few feet above the rooftops... after all, if Santa Claus can fly his sleigh along the roof tops, the all mighty US Air Force can too... It very disturbing that people don't understand that most rules are not to be broken... Especially when people think there is nothing wrong with breaking the rules of "Aerodynamics 101"... On Friday, 24 June 1994, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, USA... A Boeing B-52 Stratofortress pilot, decided to break the rules of "Aerodynamics 101", and tried to make a tight turn by banking his BOMBER to a 90 Degree angle... Here's what happened: B in B-52 stands for Bomber.. NOT fighter... and as we saw, there is a reason for that... All of the lift provided for by the level wings that kept the plane in the air, was completely eliminated by turning the plane on it's side... And The plane crashed just as the designers would have expected. DUH! Sadly, the entire crew was killed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_Fairchild_Air_Force_Base_B-52_crashMost rules exist for one very good reason or another. That's why you shouldn't break them. But, If true, I guess we'll never hear an admission from that F-16 pilot, that he was really doing something stupid.
