I had been wanting to see this film for a while, and now that I've seen it, I thought it was just ok at best. It's a mainly underwhelming film about a Belgian factory worker who is laid off from her job after suffering a nervous breakdown. During her absence from work, her coworkers were talked into voting her out of her job in exchange for a wage bonus of 1,000 Euros each. Upon her return, she visits some of her coworkers at their homes in the hopes of convincing them to give up their bonuses so that they can participate in a new vote that will enable her to get her job back. A slow-moving film, it's mainly just a character study. I don't see the appeal of Marion's performance or why she received awards hype for it. Her character attempts suicide in one scene, but it's not a dramatic scene at all, and she recovers quickly .

I have heard from various people that she really excelled as Edith Piaf, though I haven't seen that yet. Yes, she was fantastic in that.

I loved the film and defended it big time on the IMDb page for the film. Perfect portrait of how the working class are manipulated against each other and ground down to death by those controlling the money and means of production.

Once I figured out what the movie was going to be, I settled fairly readily into the proceedings. It presents an interesting dilemma.
